The House is a wonderful B&B. I first stayed in the The House in 2013 as a solo traveller and had such a lovely experience that I brought my mother and best friend back in 2018. One of the highlights is the rooftop sunroom where we enjoyed sunrises and breakfast each day. The location of the B&B is ideal; beside the Basilica (and Jardin) de Estrela and along the Tram 28 route for easy access to the city centre. One day we found ourselves wandering through some funky and cool neighborhoods (Alcântara & the LX Factory) and walked our way to Belem. I highly recommend The House and hope that I find my way there again.

Lovely B&B in the city centre. We were a big group and the staff often went out of their way to help us. The rooms are nicely decorated and the breakfast was very tasty. The real draw to this accommodation is the beautiful rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the city.

I chose this hotel for a quick, overnight stay for a business trip. Francisco and Sonia are wonderful and the hotel is more like a home. Lovely terraces, with views of the water. It's not fancy, but clean and correct. The rooftop terrace is not to be missed! I plan to come back - if they have room for me! (This is a very popular place.)

When first shown the views from the rooftop you are immediately in awe. It’s as good as any view we saw in the city. Francisco (owner) was wonderful. He went through the map with us and showed us what to see. we walked all day the first day, clicking up 10 miles and got the 24 hour bus/tram pass on day 2. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent, with freshly squeezed orange juice, fruit salad, eggs of choice, cheeses, meats and much more. I would recommend the hotel strongly. Thanks Francesco ! Hola Voyage, estaremos encantados de darle la bienvenida y no hay problema para llegar con ese horario, pero como no tenemos recepción las 24 horas, se cobrará una pequeña tarifa por el check in tardío. Saludos!

What is the closest subway stop to the hotel? Thank you!
Hi Patricia, Welcome to TheHOUSE! It is Rato, the last on the yellow line. From there it's about 10 minutes on foot. Best regards, Francisco Cansado Carvalho

Are there any nice beaches and public swimming pools near the property?
Hello! We do have an elevator that goes to our entrance floor, where we have one room. All the other rooms are on our 1st floor, which can be accessed by stairs, the same as our terrace, which is our top floor. As for the bathroom, all our rooms have their own private one. Hope I was helpful!

is there an elevator/lift? private baths?
Yes, there is an elevator to the main floor if you get a room on that one. There are stairs to the next floor and to the roof terrace. Our room had its own en suite, and I think they all have.
