My husband is a musician and had a gig in Lisbon. I found this hotel on the internet and with mostly good reviews decided to book it. The location is pretty good and I can see why this may be attractive to people, but our room was absolutely tiny, the decor was very cheap, the bed was small and uncomfortable...

This hotel is perfectly located in the Baixa district, within easy walking distance of many of the major attractions in the old part of the city. If walking up hills doesn't appeal (and there are many), then it is also well served by the tram network (the famous number 28). The hotel itself is very welcoming: the staff are extremely...

Nice boutique hotel, located near the seafront on the centre of the town. Nice rooms, friendly staff and reasonable value. Worth it.

Only 18 months up and running - not widely listed - but a real A+ discovery for our 3-night stay anyway. Small (NIPPON-esque) but redeemingly high-ceilinged, completely adequate rectangular and angular rooms of sharp-edged hermetic design. Don't let the outside in though - ventilation is OK, but not the traffic noise. However air-con is easy and well-suppressed .Slick state-of-art electrics...

Staff was very friendly and helpfull. The hotel is within walking distance from the shopping area - and also Lisboas great night life. The rooms where elegant and clean We where 10 girls traveling for fun and shopping and couldn't have been more happy with the hotel choice.

We stayed here on a city break and chose the hotel because of its central location at the southern end of the city below the main shopping areas and in the commercial district. It's not been open all that long and has a good contemporary feel to it - i.e. no chintzy stuff or floral designs. Just a good blend...

A very modern hotel, but too minimalist......For a 4* hotel, the beds should be better, the rooms should be bigger , and the closets should have some space (they almost don't exist!!). Beside that, they dont have a garage or a vallet service. You will be oriented to walk about five blocks to let your car in a public parking...

The first Lisbon hotel we stayed in was the Vincci Baixa. I don't think it is well-known in the guidebooks because I discovered it by chance on the Internet. It is beautiful and the service was impeccable, with many informative emails sent back and forth to me even before I booked our reservation! Would highly recommend it, and it is...

I stayed at the Vincci Baixa for a conference. As a solo business traveler, the hotel could not have been a better choice. The location was perfect - very near public transportation and interesting parts of the city which I could easily explore during my free time. The hotel is extremely service oriented. Free wifi and a delicious and varied...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!

The Vincci Baixa hotel is the Vincci chain's first hotel in Portugal. In the centre of Lisbon and less than 7 km away from the airport, Vincci Baixa is set in a privileged location in the downtown shopping and financial district, one of the city's liveliest areas. Baixa has a wealth of shops, dozens of open-air bars and is popular with musicians and artists, giving it a bohemian air that is very much in keeping with the rest of the city.
