I don't seek luxury, but I value location and I like good value. We were in an old room but it was clean and comfortable. There are renovated rooms to be had that looked especially nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful so who cares that the lobby is a little shabby. No breakfast? Not to worry there is...

Chose this from booking.com. Very well located near Rossio station. 2 squares nearby are the terminus for a number of buses and trams, one of which takes you up to the gate of the castle. Room clean - furnishings look new.

Location is superb, staff is very friendly, cleaning service is very satisfactory, there's free wi-fi and television in the rooms but...the rooms are freaking freezing in winter as there is no heating. Also, please do get some shower holders for the toilets.

I screwed up, I got my dates wrong and I showed up and I had no room. I had a room booked but with another hotel. Like I said , I screwed up. Nevertheless, the staff at the Pensacola Central helped me straighten it all out. There are a lot of places thar will rent you a room at a...

Great location, slap bang in the centre, especially for a flying visit. Run down but clean and fresh. Comfy bed but synthetic sheets. Busy street but not too noisy. Efficient staff who know what they're doing and speak English well. My one complaint is that the Wi Fi was weak and intermittent - I had to go to reception to...

We enjoyed our 3 nights stay here as the location was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean but basic, which we were comfortable with and expected. Yes, they could do some renovations.

My sister went to check out the hotel in order to send me advice on how to find it. She was shocked at the 'renovations work' being carried out. It was noisey, dusty etc. The reception was up on the second floor, up and steep staicase without a lift. The rooms were on the third floor. She couldn't believe i...

This small hotel is located just off the Rossio square near the railway station. It is conveniently close to many points of interest at a walking distance. Rooms are clean and fares are acceptables. The receptionists are extremely kind and happy to provide you with useful hints for your visit to Lisbon.

Came here from the UK on the Sunday 24th of April and stayed in room 315 with my friend who came from Prague. We both had separate beds and during the first night I could not sleep. My whole body was itching and I thought it might be just an allergic reaction. The next morning when we woke up we...

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighbourhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
