Immaculately clean apartments, quiet, polite staff. Could benefit from a few more sunloungers, but guests were so polite and respectful not to leave towels out all day so there was a gd turnover of sunloungers. Tennis court nearby, cheap taxis to Cascais only €5. Alot of walking otherwise. Wouldn't bother going into Estoril, but Cascais is lovely. 15 min walk to beach. I would definately go back. Hotel will book an airport transfer for you. Nothing is too much trouble. A great stay.

Absolutely loved our 4 day stay here. The staff were super nice and accommodating. The rooms were spacious and the cleaning service was done well. Would 100% recommend to anyone thinking of coming to Estoril.

I have stayed here on several ocassions and found it ideal. All the rooms are spacious and well equiped with fridge , tv and cookers. There is a good shop around the corner to buy bread and drinks. The beach is a 10 minute stroll away but the hotel is set in a peacefull area.
The restaurant was poor as was the breakfast but that did not bother us as we went out or had our own breakfast in our rooms.
The best rooms are higher up because they get more of a breeze as the air con is poor.
The pool is very small and is used by none hotel guests which means you cant use it unless you put your towel out very early, but we prefer beach anyway.
This is a great "BASE " hotel for discovering the area rather than a hotel to "stay only "

I booked a 5 day stay on the hotels official webpage (http://www.lunahoteis.com)> I received 3 emails with confirmation. When I arrived at the hotel the clerk informed me that they have no trace of my reservation and also that they are fully booked :-( Showing them the reservation number and the confirmation email did not help of course.

I had to find another place to stay. If you decide to book a stay there be sure to confirm it by phone!!! Apparently they are not up to date with technology.

Four us went on a last minute break to Estoril and stayed at the Clube do Largo Hotel. We were delighted with our rooms - large, comfortable and well-equipped with a nice little kitchenette and a balcony big enough for us all to sit, play cards and have a drink in the evening when we came in. The pool area though small, is very pleasant - the only thing is that they do not provide towels which we would expect from a 4 star hotel. Also the pool bar was not open for drinks or snacks which was a pity. We were slightly worried having read other reviews, about the distance from the town and the steep roads. We ranged in age from 66 - 76, one asthmatic and one who had open heart surgery in the last 12 months, and it was not a problem. When we didn't feel like the walk back up, we got a taxi. It was never any more than 5 euros whever we came from. Breakfast too was good with plenty of choice of continental breakfast and limited hot food.

We had good meals in various restaurants at very reasonable prices, but our favourite was Baluka, just along the boardwalk from Monte Estoril station. We went twice, the fish was excellent and the fried prawns to die for! Strongly recommend. Also the snack bar attached to the hotel does a good light meal and has wonderful cakes and pastries!

We had an excellent holiday and hope to return.

My husband and I were lucky to get a last minute deal from Sunway Holidays for the last week in June . We stayed in Hotel Clube do Lago in Estoril. We were very happy with what we got for our bargain price.
Though located in a quiet street uphill from the nearest beach it was within easy walking distance of the lively resort of Cascais which has many good restaurants and quality stores not just the usual tourist shops but these as well so everybody catered for.
Beautiful beach in Estoril but many more in the couple of Kms between Estoril and Cascais. Great boardwalk stretching from Estoril to Cascais harbour and beyond. We walked home every night from Cascais, tho it took us more than a half hour, the hardest part at the end from Monte Estoril up a few steep streets to our hotel! We enjoyed the walk along the boardwalk by the sea and felt perfectly safe at all times. Taxis, however, were very reasonable so are an easier option if preferred.
Bikes are available free from near the tourist office at Cascais on production of passport and a cycle path can be used to the west of the town for several Kms with beautiful scenic views along the way.
We had a studio apartment in Clube do Lago which was quite large with a nice balcony.
Breakfast was provided, which was ok except for the orange juice but you can avoid that!
The rooms were cleaned every day and the towels changed. The only complaint I had was the quality of the beds - in a word - dreadful! It is time for a change to decent matresses !
The hotel has a very nice pool and a leisure centre with gym and indoor heated pool etc which looked very well maintained but which we didnt use as temps were close to 30 degrees for the week we were there.
Staff at reception were very helpful but especially Paula who answered endless questions about buses, trains, etc etc. She was at all times professional, pleasant and endlessly patient. Thank you Paula!
Finally, it was easy to travel to Lisbon as trains leave every 20 mins from Monte Estoril station about 10 mins from hotel.
Local buses from Estoril or Cascais can be used to visit the lovely town of Sintra.
I forgot to mention the Casino at Estoril which is a good place to visit for a drink later in the evening - good atmosphere with a jazz band playing , even if the gambling doesn't appeal to you!
All in all we enjoyed a good week in Estoril / Cascais and were made very welcome in Clube do Lago.

The location of this hotel isn't called Monte Estoril for nothing. It's up a steep hill from Estoril and so you should factor in taxi fares from the station unless you enjoy an energetic walk at the end of a day or evening out. It is worth the walk though: It's in a lovely area with very helpful and friendly staff and our 2 bedroom apartment was enormous with a lovely balcony (with doors from both living room and bedroom) with a nice view of the outdoor pool. We visited in February and so the heating was put to the test and passed with flying colours. The hotel is also next to a very nice bakery and cafe and an easy 5 minutes walk to a good supermarket which was very useful for stocking up our small kitchen in the apartment. We used the wifi a fair bit and this was very fast and efficient, and is free. Our apartment was cleaned and beds made daily and the whole place was always spotless. On the down side, the facilities are a bit dated and the apartments are looking a bit tired in places. The showers are rather old fashioned and mounted above the bath, and it can take some time to balance the hot and cold taps to get a comfortable water temperature, but there was plenty of hot water. Our apartment also suffered from drainage problems with sinks and the bath which is fine if you don't mind having a luke warm foot spa while having your shower! The fan in the bathroom didn't work either. The furniture in the living room is also a bit worn and could do with replacement but comfortable enough. Our biggest surprise was that the apartment had three TVs (one in each bedroom and another in the living room) but no DVD player and a limited number of channels to choose from. We were also disappointed that the (indoor) pool was only open from 6pm-9pm during our stay and the games room was also only open very restricted hours. Overall, the hotel is very nice and we'd certainly return. It would be even better if the pool was open a bit longer and they installed DVD players!

We have just returned from 10 nights staying at Clube Do Lago. The hotel itself is clean with good facilities but unfortunately the location lets it down. The rooms are nice and large and include a small kitchenette. The bathroom is reasonable with shower attachment, bath, WC & bidet.

The room was kept clean and the staff were, on the whole, friendly. The location is near the top of a hill and is a bit of a slog, especially after a day out sightseeing. The hotel is also positioned on a fairly busy intersection so if you are in an outside room there is a lot of road noise especially as the roads are cobbled.

The pavements around also have a lot of dog muck about which i don't think is down to bad dog owners but due to the dogs we saw in the evenings just wandering the streets.

There are a couple of nice restaurants around in Monte Estoril but not much else. For a bit more going on walk to Cascais along the beach which will take you about 20 mins and is a nice walk day or night.

A word of warning about the restaurants/cafes. Most of them automatically bring you bread and olives when you sit down. Average price for these is 2 euros p/p. If you do not want to pay for them tell them you do not want them when they bring them. It is also a good idea to ask how much they charge for a beer as prices vary greatly from one place to another. cheapest we paid in a restaurant was 2.30 euros for 0.5 L and 5 euros for 0.4L in a bar.

On the whole a nice stay and Lisbon is a great place to visit but allow at least 2/3 days. Also visit the Pena Palace and the Moorish castle in Sintra.

Would i recommend this hotel? Only if you have an inside room (facing the pool) and a car or you are reasonably fit for the walking.

We spent 7 days in this hotel from the 21 to the 28 of August. The area is beautiful , refined , clean , full of museums , theatres , restaurants and parks .We moved between Cascais and Estoril by walking along the beach .The beach is narrow ,sometimes with rocks but it is very clean , the water is clear but very cold .Everybody is jogging , walking or just enjoying a cup of coffee on the many terraces and restaurants situated along the beach .The hotel itself is very nice , clean , it has a small pool ouside , a small gym .I cannot say many things about the hotel because we didnt spend a lot of time there .We woke uo in the morning , had breakfast and then went ouside to discober the area .Breakfast here is nice , not too many things to say about it .One minus or observation is the fact that they don t serve real eggs , they serve egg powder scrambled eggs .Another one would be , I didn t mind , bt my husband did, is that the staff are not used to using the basic courteosy formulas , we usually said good morning or anything else .They just sit down at the desk, look busy or not , and ignore you even if it is a 4 star hotel and politeness is mandatory .Some of them are barely speaking English .The hotel is situated on a hill so there is a lot of walking to do , you don t need to go to the gym anymore .It is more difficult upon return because you have to walk up steep roads , very charming and picturesque but we didn t mind .If you are physically challenged , or cannot walk long distances , don t come here , choose a hotel closer to the beach ,The buildings are beautiful , in different architectural styles belonging to different centuries .I can fairly say that I did not see an ugly building while staying here .We took the train and went to Lisbon which is beautiful .There we took a touring bus which took us aroung the city and we visited the ocenarium .The ride with the train is 30 minutes and it costs 6 euros , I think.Overall the area is nice, charming and peaceful .If you come for the nightlife , this is not the place for you as it is very quiet .We had lunch and dinner at the restaurants on the beach and fish was the king for 7 days .The prices are pretty fair , 28 euros for a plate of grilled fish for 2 .If you go to restaurants or bar not close to the beach , I think the prices are cheaper .We found a tapas bar, Tapas do Monte and we ate there 2 evenings and the food was really nice , small plates with cheese , seafood , or veal , depending on what you chose , red wine , sparkling white wine , and I think we paid less but everything was nice and fresh .On the beach restaurants , I think seafood is overated , 5o euros and up to 70 euros if you chose lobster but it is up the individual taste .Overall the whole experience was exquisite , I loved Portugal and I would love to go back one day.

Good afternoon from CLUBE DO LAGO, Thank you for your inquiry. Our suggestion is a T2 suite apartment. 2bedrooms + 2 bathroom + 1 living room + 1 kitchenette. If you prefer a T1 suite apartment the children can sleep in extra beds in the living room. Do you know already the date you intend to travel? Kind regards
