Large rooms, very good breakfast, very friendly personnel. Excellent location near a splendid golf, next to the coast for walking or running and bicycle distance from Cascais and surf beach. Sinthra and Lissabon are near by.

Time flies, but bad things sure stick. It's the monumental things that stay with you, good or bad. It's actually been about 13 months since my one night stay at this Cascais hotel, but I've thought of that night many a time since then. About time for a review I'd say. I'll make it short, actually. I was here on...

We were on our honeymoon, we told them in advance, not even kind words or a gesture. we told them we were would be late as we had a late flight, no problem they said. when we get to the room exhausted, room is freezing cold - this was in august !! we asked them if there was something we...

Everything is this hotel is uncluttered and exquisitely thought through. From the sculpture that is framed by the view of the sea to the lawns around the property. The breakfasts are like an adventure and the views add to the sense of simple abundance.

The hotel is a glass modern structure that makes you look out instead of in. On the main floor there are very few walls to allow a view to the dunes and nature outside as much as possible. The food is very good, the breakfast buffet is over the top and there is no reason to leave the resort unless...

This is a very trendy, zen environment. The building is a Y shape, with all rooms having views of the ocean and dunes. The look is very modern and the rooms have clean lines. The staff is amazing. The food at either restaurants is exceptional. Stayed 4 nights and could have stayed longer. An outstanding experience.

11 of us stayed here for a long weekend of golf and tennis. The modern design wasn't to everyone's taste but most of us loved it. The rooms are incredibly spacious and well designed with a separate work area. Service was excellent and the breakfasts (which were our only meal at the hotel) were great. The location is spectacular and...

If there is one hotel in Portugal which you should NOT!! visit: than it is the Oitavos! They cannot handle groups. They do not stick to what they have commited to and - worst: they think that their behaviour is normal. We ordered veal and for the same price we got porc. We order fisch and we got minced meat....

Normally I never eat in a hotel-restaurant but here you can order chefs table and that means you can eat in THE Kitchen of THE hotel and you eat what THE chef gives you.We ate many dishes at first quality good at VERY reasonable prices. You can't go wrong.

When you see the owner around the hotel, berating a member of staff for not aligning the pool furniture correctly, whilst ignoring the fact that they guy on the next table (me) has sent his lunch back three times, and after an hour is still waiting for a simple order, you quickly realise that somewhere, someone has got their priorities...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Inspired by the timeless beauty of the Atlantic coast, The Oitavos seeks to embrace rather than compete with nature. Its bold design, sleek lines and elegantly simple interiors focus attention outwards – on the historical and natural elements of the grounds and the drama and romance of the Atlantic Ocean. A stunning blue colour palate will cool your senses, blending with the colours of the sea and the violets of the flowers dotted across the landscape. Contemporary sculpture and paintings by Portuguese artists will enrapture against the white canvas. ... more   less
