Modern hotel with no soul or style, but friendly and professional staff at reception. Good seating and excellent service at the bar.Large room with king size bed and all amenities. However, windows are poorly insulated, so noise is a problem, both to the roadside or to the courtyard!!! In the morning, breakfast was mayhem, with long queues and chaos in...

We stayed here one night on way to Porto. In hindsight I wouldn't bother as really only the university is special to see and this doesn't take long. The hotel was a great disappointment. Service was very poor, rooms were below average and it's a lengthy hike to city center in much traffic. Dinner is the restaurant was only so-so.

The Hotel Tryp was one of a short list suggested by the organisers of a conference. Contacting the hotel by e-mail and booking directly was trouble free. I am a light sleeper and so requested a quiet room. I was given a room on the 5th floor, but the traffic noise from the busy road outside was a problem. The...

Nice, modern hotel with well furnished rooms. Breakfast was good, but not very interesting. There is no view to speak of, nor is it close to the city center, but if you enjoy walking (I do) you do get a nice view of the winding city streets as you head to the center.

THE BUILDING .: The building ia a 10 or 15 years old one , well mantained-. THE ROOMS: Are very large ( about 25 square meters)...

Stayed here for a few nights on a Titan tour of north Portugal. Generally the recent reviews on here are fair and accurate. It is a little way out of the main town, so not too convenient for Coimbra itself. Modern hotel, looks nice and with pleasant reception/bar area. Rooms were fine and quite nicely equipped. Restaurant is good looking....

A modern good quality hotel on the edge of the city. Very Good breakfasts with choice of hot and cold food. The restaurant is also well worth a try, offering local dishes at a reasonable price. All the staff were friendly and very efficient. A couple of 'local' bars in a shopping centre are just around the corner as well...

Hotel Tryp is pretty good - new (construction work nearby now finished), standard-type hotel, but spacious room and bathroom, good service, great breakfast. On the edge of the old town, but only a short (and cheap) taxi ride away, and also from the train station.

Coimbra is SO NICE!!! city center hotels did not look nice from the outside, Tryp is ok, not in the center, lot of construction going on around the hotel, so quite ugly surrounding. 1 or 2 days is really enough to discover Coimbra, hotel was a good choice because of the price. But at Tryp, you pay for any extra:...
