Over the course of a week we got to stay in two different rooms - both very pleasant. 222 and 301. Breakfast buffet was delicious and comprehensive. Staff served you. Carla and John are v. hard-working. Exceptional was the help provided by the reception staff. We locked ourselves out of our room safe several times and each time received help promptly. Carla, Miguel and Tanya were fabulous in solving any issues and making recommendations. Let Tanya book a fado evening at the 'Cais do Cabaljau' - excellent dinner and wonderful singers -= esp. Cristina Maria who is also a sculptor. Walk 10 min to the port swimming area. Comes with showers and bathrooms. On the way there book a whale-watching, deep sea fishing or other trip. One caveat: if you need a rapid Covid test…

This is a lovely hotel, full of charm and a wonderful, helpful staff. My room, 316, was beautiful -- a lovely view of the garden and flowering trees, and sitting out on the balcony was divine. There's a swimming pool on the roof with nice seating. Breakfasts are terrific ... a wide choice that changes daily of eggs, bacon or sausage, granola, yogurt, fresh fruit, meats and cheeses, waffles, bread, pastries, and coffees ... with outside tables facing the garden. The location is perfect for exploring the city -- across the street from yummy gelato, many cafes and shops, and just a few minutes from the waterfront. Hotel is super clean and COVID sensitive, and guests also get a discount at one of the sites for the COVID test needed to return home. Highly recommended.

We were very pleased with our visit, from a very late night check in through to a very early departure five days later. Helpful reception staff (who got us a discount on Antigen Tests to get back into the UK). Immaculately maintained public areas both in the historic hotel and the newer section above the restuarant. Lovely large clean room (226) with a balcony looking over the square, which was very quiet at the weekend and not really busy during the week. The garden in the photo is the nice public square outside the side of the hotel. All the usual facilities - fridge, kettle, TV with lots of channels, and enough plug sockets for devices! Decent breakfast options with helpful serving staff in this Covid-world. Small pool on the roof of the hotel, partially covered, made…

We stayed here March 2-5, 2020. The room was lovely and felt luxurious. We found the front reception staff to be a hit or miss situation, the ladies were very helpful with telling us locations of places and what places would be open as we were in Ponta Delgada over a weekend and it pretty much shuts down from 1:00 pm on Saturday to Monday morning. The breakfast was good and the restaurant staff were excellent. Would recommend staying here. Just one warning, as it is on a pedestrian street my husband dropped me off to check in and then followed behind a few minutes later. We were not ten minutes and went back to our rental care and had received a parking ticket. Was very frustrating. It costs 6 euro to park at the Hotel parking lot and is much cheaper to park at a meter.

My husband and I spent 12 days at The Hotel Talisman. We were very happy with our choice to stay here. We found it a very good location to walk to most things. We were a 10 min walk down to the water and about a 15 min walk up to the mall, Parque Atlantico. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely room that looked out on the park but had to move part way through our holiday as the people next to us were noisy and coughed constantly. The front staff were very good and moved us right away to a much quieter room. The breakfast was very good with local fresh fruit everyday, pineapple, kiwi, melon. The fruit changes from day to day. They also have little bananas, waffles, melted chocolate, yogurt, cheese, jams, cereals, meats, eggs.and so much more. The only…

This is a charming heritage hotel centrally located. We stayed in the original part of the hotel and were fortunate enough to have a mini balcony to sit on. The front desk staff are informative and friendly. The breakfast was okay with a dispensing machine for your hot drinks. We stayed for 4 nights and found it odd that we were allowed 1 glass bottle of water (refillable) and 4 tea bags as a welcome gift with the option to purchase more. Both of those items are so inexpensive - for us to purchase or a hotel to supply. Just seemed odd to cheap out on something like that. We felt the attention to energy saving with hallway lights only activating when you walked near them was great but at the same time, the hotel still uses small throw away plastic shampoo bottles and…

The Talisman Hotel in downtown Ponta Delgada was a great choice for my last visit. The small lobby off the road was welcoming, as was the clerk at the desk who checked me in. Even though it was before the normal 2pm check in time, they had a room and in no time, I was in the elevator just off the large covered atrium and on my way up to my very clean room on the second floor. My room, while bring an interior double, was well lit by a window opening to the atrium, very spacious with a queen bed that could be separated, a seating are with table and two chairs, a large flat screen TV and luggage rack. The alcove before the bathroom had a sink with mirror, a good supply of plush towels and toiletries, opposite was a nice sized closet with built in drawers and a safe. The…

We stayed seven nights and it was excellent value for money with lovely staff and a great location within walking distance to everything in the city, including local cafes and restaurants. We had a large room with a balcony overlooking the street- nice bathroom and two twin beds. Buffet breakfast was excellent and the staff would bring us barista coffee at no extra cost. We had two dinners there which were quite good. Nice little pool and patio area on the roof with great city views. Staff was very kind- on my wife's birthday we came back to find champagne and dessert waiting for us! Desk staff was very helpful and checkout was a breeze. We paid 50 euros a night and I don't think you could find such value anywhere in Europe, and we were lucky enough to be there in the…

We really enjoyed our stay at this downtown, central hotel. The establishment has been around for a while but has been well maintained over the years. The room was a little noisy facing onto the street, but not enough to detract from our stay. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the breakfast offers a great variety of good food, and the room is comfortable and roomy.

We were here for a 3 day stay from Jan 23 to 26. The staff was very pleasant, especially the dining room staff at breakfast time. We were given a suite which consisted of a living room, a large bathroom and large bedroom. It was huge! Great selection at breakfast, cold cuts, cheese, fresh fruit, yogurt, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, beans, pancakes, waffles, juices. you won't go hungry. We at supper at the restaurant on our first night. We weren't impressed and went elsewhere for the remainder of our time. There's a lounge on the lower level with comfy seats and a cozy ambience. This time of year, it was very quiet. We took the time to upload our pics here drinking a few beer. It was lovely. This location is very handy and walkable in the downtown area. It's a 10…
