Historic hotel along the old city walls. Room was very comfortable with an amazing bathroom. The restaurant was not open for dinner so walked down the street for a good meal. Breakfast was pretty good.

Hidden in part by ramparts of the old fortification and festooned with flowers and beautiful shrubs this is an ideal place to stay. Its history goes back a couple of hundred years when the building was originally used as a hospital run by Friars. The rooms are extremely large and well furnished and the hotel itself is an excellent place...

Tried to pay at check in but the receptionist told me to go park the car because he still needed to enter my data in the computer. Once I parked and carried the luggage to the room I gave him a 100 Euro bill to pay the required 70 Euros. He left to try and get change. When he came...

There is a charm factor to this place, even if the hall carpets show a bit of wear, The room was big and atmospheric and the bathrooms was huge. There is a walkout veranda onto the ramparts of the city, on which olive trees are growing. Good location just inside the walls of town.

What a lovely hotel - clean, charming with great amenities. The rooms are small. Bed comfy. We had a southwest facing balcony. The courtyard, pool, and lawn areas are great. Front desk staff were helpful. Elvas is an underrated destination - full of history and charm

Stayed here for 2 nights. Sept 2015. Brilliant location. Built into the walls of Elvas. Get a balcony room on 3rd floor overlooking pool. Good space. Hotel dates back as a monastery to 1600 s We got a great history from Rudolpho , one of the management. Nice pool and garden area. Good value. Great location. But breakfast quite mundane....

Very good location. Very good price/service. The staff is quite friendly and helpful. The room is clean and the bathroom too. The restaurant is only for breakfast and the choice is acceptable, with fresh bread and cofre and fruit!

Came here back in 2011 when is first heard it had been converted from a military hospital. I was brought up in the area and had always seen the very tall palm and had wanted to come and see it for myself. The hotel, as mentioned above, was converted from a medieval militarily hospital, and it's been done up beautifully,...

We were passing between Evora and Caceres and we stayed at this hotel. It is stepping back in time a little to stay here. It is not a modern hotel but that is part of its charm. Charming it is, but there could be a lot of improvements to build it to a four star hotel it purports to be....
