This hotel isn't in desperate need of an upgrade, it is tired looking and pretty scruffy in places. Our room was overlooking the street where there was a fair on with loud music until midnight! Bathroom was grotty, the bath was stained , the grouting...More
The place is very well. Located and the rooms are large. But the issue is nothing works well. No aircon or heating worked. The bathroom had tubes with no shower curtain so water went all over making it wet and dangerous.
Beds were too soft....More
Overall the hotel is in need of updating. Staff were very accommodating. Our room was cold the heater was broken when reporting it we were asked if the window was open. With the temperature as it was we were not impressed by this remark. Heating...More

I was on the fourth floor where I encountered bed bugs in two rooms and suffered a bad reaction. I also travelled with Crusader Coach Holidays. Prior to my trip I phoned Crusader voicing my concern about reports of bugs in this hotel but was informed that the Park Hotel had dealt with the infestation. I was doubtful as the reports were very recent. On my return to the UK I angrily wrote a complaining letter to the your company and the hotel cost was reimbursed. To my amazement I noticed that Crusader and Sherings (same reports!!) had the Park Hotel featured in their 2015 holidays. I found the Park Hotel very dated and in great need of a refurbishment although I can only comment about the main hotel. The lift was antiquated with manual doors and there was no porterage. The stairs had threadbare carpets on the lower treads and were dangerously dark due to light bulbs not working. There were no tea or coffee facilities in the bedrooms and the breakfasts were dire with stale bread for toast and no fresh milk for tea or cereals. In my estimation the Park Hotel falls very short of a four star hotel and I would avoid staying there ever again.
