Myself and 3 others stayed in the quadruple room. On arrival the lady was really helpful by getting us checked in so we could go out for the day and gave us our key cards for when we returned. We left our bags in the lockers as the room wasn't quite ready. Bring a padlock for this as you need...

Hi, Thanks for your nice review :) I appreciate your tip for the toaster and will transfer the message to the chef. Hope to see you again at our hostel, Irena

Wasn't the best hostel experience I have had compared to others. The reception vibe is frosty or maybe that was due to the language barrier.... Had a poor sleep, mainly due to noise from the bar and being at the front of the hostel (went on till 4am). The pillow was so thin, had to use my coat as a...

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that your stay at our hostel hasn't been as planned. We haven't got yet comments about the blankets and the pillows but since we understand that it is more of a personal question, you could always ask at the reception for a supplementary ones :) I hope that despite this issue...

Dear Allie, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that the service provided hasn't responded to your expectations. We aren't advertizing a 24h reception and on all the channels we are present you will find the opening hours of the reception - from 7 a.m. till 01.00 a.m. So there is almost all the time someone available to answer...

This hostel is in a good location. it is not IN the city centre, but it is super close. I did everything by walking. They have a good breakfast, reception 24 h, they are super clean but... if your room is not close to the ground floor, you do not have wifi.

I stayed at this place with a couple of friends in Nov 2016, and our experience was just too basic. A good deal for your money if you're not too picky. The hostel is located in a very quiet area, with not much to do around. No restaurants, no coffee shops, no tourists atractions, just office buildings. So you might...

Hello Alejandro, Thank you for taking the time to review our hostel. We are really sorry to hear your stay with us didn't meet your expectations. We are in fact located in a quiet area of the city but there is a few restaurants & coffee shops only 3 min walking from the hostel & one supermarket down the street....

It's a good-value for money hostel. The location is ok, but it's not as central as it is advertised. You might want to take the metro (not the friendliest on earth) to visit major touristic attractions. The hostel as well has nothing interesting around; you can barely find a restaurant or a coffee shop, except you move towards Botanique or...

While we loved visiting Brussels our stay at Jacques Brel was disappointing. We were not able to stay there for the one night we had booked a private room with bathroom attached. There was an unbearable smell of sewers in the bathroom. The beds made of plastic, had no sheets on them & the radiators were mildly warm. As we...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Jacques Brel Youth Hostel is ideally located at about 10 min walking from the Brussels Main Square (Grand-Place). Nearby, you'll be able to take a picture of the Manneken-Pis. The hostel is located on the Place des Barricades, a amazing neoclassic square with typical white buildings. A really relaxing and quit place right in the centre of the capital city. From the hostel, you can easily reach the European Parliament, and if you'd rather go for food pleasures, the famous Belgian chocolate makers and local breweries are waiting for you! If you're tempted by fashion, you can easily go to the Dansaert and Saint-Géry as well as to Louise, Porte de Namur and Rue Neuve neighbourhoods. ... more   less
