This hostel is in a good location. it is not IN the city centre, but it is super close. I did everything by walking. They have a good breakfast, reception 24 h, they are super clean but... if your room is not close to the ground floor, you do not have wifi.

Jacques is an excellent Hostel, good location, near a subway station, bus station and near the principals touristic points. The reception team are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is delicious.

I stayed at this place with a couple of friends in Nov 2016, and our experience was just too basic. A good deal for your money if you're not too picky. The hostel is located in a very quiet area, with not much to do around. No restaurants, no coffee shops, no tourists atractions, just office buildings. So you might...

I can't complain, because I got better room than I ordered :). Room and hostel was clean, breakfast was good. Near the bed there is a electrical outlet and USB port for recharging mobiles. In hotel You have bar where You can buy something to drink and cheap meals. Hostel is near the metro station and tram line so You...

It's a good-value for money hostel. The location is ok, but it's not as central as it is advertised. You might want to take the metro (not the friendliest on earth) to visit major touristic attractions. The hostel as well has nothing interesting around; you can barely find a restaurant or a coffee shop, except you move towards Botanique or...

While we loved visiting Brussels our stay at Jacques Brel was disappointing. We were not able to stay there for the one night we had booked a private room with bathroom attached. There was an unbearable smell of sewers in the bathroom. The beds made of plastic, had no sheets on them & the radiators were mildly warm. As we...

First room I stayed in was quite big with a shower and bathroom included but none of the electrical outlets were working except for one in the bathroom that all 6 guests had to share! Staff was also not so friendly; at some point when I was trying to extend my stay, it almost seemed like they didn't even want...

The hostel is mostly used by larger groups (schools etc) and therefore lack the backpacker vibe that could be found at more intimate hostels. That much said, it's a pretty well run operation: clean rooms , professional staff and an OK if somewhat uninspired breakfast. Location is also good.

It's a very big hostel with a lot of common areas, so it's easy to meet another tourists! Free breakfast. Next to the metro stop. Nice rooms. In our room, the Wi-Fi didn't work very nice but on the corridors or in the common areas was perfect!

This hostel is really nice, about a 10 minute walk from the centre and has a couple or restaurants and shops close by. The staff are really nice and theres a bar downstairs that sells nice food and drink. The rooms are pretty basic but thats all we needed because we out sight seeing most of the day.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hostel is ideally located at about 10 min walking from the Brussels Main Square (Grand-Place). Nearby, you'll be able to take a picture of the Manneken-Pis. The hostel is located on the Place des Barricades, a amazing neoclassic square with typical white buildings. A really relaxing and quit place right in the centre of the capital city. From the hostel, you can easily reach the European Parliament, and if you'd rather go for food pleasures, the famous Belgian chocolate makers and local breweries are waiting for you! If you're tempted by fashion, you can easily go to the Dansaert and Saint-Géry as well as to Louise, Porte de Namur and Rue Neuve neighbourhoods. ... more   less
