I used to live in Brussels in the 80's and when planning a trip back with my teenage daughters to show them my old haunts I wanted a good quality hotel close to the centre of Brussels but far enough away to avoid the noise and bustle, and above all I didn't want to have to pay through the nose....

The Stanhope is all it's cracked up to be. The room was a nice size and very nicely appointed. As is often the case, the reading lights could do with improvement. It was very clean, a good shower, plenty of hot water. The breakfast was good and the garden (for meals or drinks or tea) was lovely. I had one...

Don't get me wrong. The Stanhope is a very nice hotel, with lots to recommend it. It's located close to transportation and to some of the major museums. The staff is helpful, the shower's great, and room service is lightning fast. Best of all, the smoke-free rooms really are smoke-free, and the hotel is very quiet. So what's wrong? Other...

The Stanhope hotel is a 15 minute easy walk through a beautiful park to the tourist centre of Brussels. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful with our requests. The atmosphere of the hotel is hiqh quality but relaxed. There is a central courtyard where we enjoyed pre / post dinner drinks every evening. I didn't get...

This hotel is still in many ways a very good one - excellent service, good location, etc which is why I returned after a stay in January 2011. In a response to my earlier review of this hotel the manager said they would review their practice of charging for wireless: if they have reviewed it then they clearly decided to...

The Stanhope hotel is one of my favourites in Brussels. Always up to an expected standard, with a lot of atmosphere of subdued luxury. Fruits placed next to elevators are increasing the feeling of hospitality. Well-trained, efficient and polite reception staff. A tea and coffee making machine would be a plus.

The hotel is easy to get to via bus from the airport, with no transfers. Stops just around the corner from the hotel. It is a ritzy looking place with very expensive (25 euro per person) breakfast which we did not select. The room was not easy to get to, and was VERY cozy. The room had some older furniture,...

The hotel is positioned in the European Quarter of Brussels and therewith very well positioned. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. The hotel has lots of charme and is very stylish. The wellness area is not that special. The Breakfast is very French and would need to have some more international flair. Public transport is close by.
