The evening we chose to eat here was very busy due to the rain. For one of our party the steak was over cooked but the restaurant changed it for one of the correct temperature, although this took longer than the said time our friend was happy with the result. Staff very friendly. nice layout of the restaurant.

Great hotel with pleasant atmosphere, situated next to the magnificent Mechelen Cathedral. Clean rooms with really great beds. Public car parking is next door. Very good burgerbar Il Cardinale is worth to spend some time and money and just across the street on the Wollemarkt.

I did not stay but ate in the restaurant. I could have given a 1 rating or a 5 rating. Why? The quality, style and presentation of the food is worth a 5. We had the tasting menu served with different beers which made for a fantastic combination that I would recommend when in mechelen. Why is a 1 rating...

Had a great view of the cathedral from our room and the hotel is close to the main square. The hotel has great character and the rooms are a good size. I would definitely recommend. The continental breakfast had quite a large range and there is a bar/restaurant. Only downsides were the double bed was a European double (two singles...

We stayed here on Saturday 28 May. The hotel is ideally located for the Grote Markt and it's joys. We were pleased with our room and certainly the rate. The downstairs area and restaurant/bar had had a lot of thought and care put into it. The rooms were clean and basic, but what more do you want than a comfortable...

I was booked into this hotel by the corporation running the conference. Took taxi from airport took 15/20 minutes but bill was €60.00 please note taxis are quiet expensive. Their is a train service about 2 miles from hotel away if interested. The hotel is stated 3star but is more 2/3 star then 3/4 star. The facilities such as bar...

I stayed at this cute hotel for 3 nights. The rooms are basic, but they are taken care withh a great attention to detail. The room was arranged beautifully and it had a great feeling of tranquility. My room faced the square and the church and the view was amazing. The hotel has a courtyard with the most beautiful fountain....

We upgraded before arrival to an executive double, I dread to think what our original room would have been like. On arrival, there was no one at reception; even though we arrived well before 9pm. I found a waitress who sourced our key and told us where I room was. The room was very basic, with two small singles pushed...

Mechelen was a lovely surprise on my recent trip to Belgium - & Hotel den Wolsack exceeded my expectations. A gracious European hotel in a wonderful historic building mere yards from the historic old market square. It was quite literally next to the cathedral. My room had a view of the cathedral tower and the neighboring park, & the carillon...

I spent just two nights here on business. The hotel is in a great location, right opposite the Cathedral, which was a concern initially due to the amount of chiming that comes out of the almost 100mtr tall tower. Thankfully this seemed to be switched off between 11-00pm and 6-00am. The staff were very friendly, the room I had (33)...
