Unfortunately, one of my worst experiences ever, this facility should not be considered a hotel rather it should be a serviced apartment. The level of service they provide is extremely poor, any delivery to your room(even requesting an adapter) they charge you 12€ for only the delivery!!! Absolutely terrible service. The staff are bot that friendly only a few are supportive. Highly not recommended.

I booked this hotel for work without researching it I was expecting a normal basic hotel as it wasn't particularly expensive. As I walked in through the door I said "wow" it really was a stunning entrance. Check in was very smooth and I was soon on my way into the lift with the captivating animation showing the lift elevating up to the top of Utrecht. My room was absolutely massive, almost absurdly so. The bed was very comfortable and looked gorgeous. I will say though that the room was SO big it looked a little sparse. The small chairs in the corner could have been a sofa that would have been a nice touch. The bathroom had a whirlpool bath in it AND a walk in shower AND a separate toilet. I went up to the pool on the roof which also had a jacuzzi in it and fantastic views over the surrounding area as well as a steam room and sauna. The hotel does seem a bit out of the way but once you realise that it is very close to a tram stop you can get to and from the centre of Utrecht very easily. I rented a bike from the hotel in the end to get to the office I was visiting this was very convenient too. I don't have many negatives but breakfast whilst good didn't have that much variety. I could see me getting quite tired of what was on offer after a few days. The breakfast is far below what you might get in a hotel like a Radisson (in fairness it was only $15 euros) There is nothing wrong with was was there but just not enough choice. I didn't eat any other meals at the hotel since I wanted to get out into Utrecht in the evenings but their menu looked excellent and not trying it is a regret. I would 100% stay here again, as far as city hotels go. all round, this is probably the best hotel I have ever stayed at.

Good place to have drinks and dinner. Fresh food and friendly service. Parking place is sometimes a challenge. Fish was very fresh. Drinks: when asking no ice please no ice. Toilets are easy to enter for disabilities. I would like to see rooms next time. L experience with this

I was recommended to try this hotel and I am glad I was. It was surprising large and spacious, the staff were all very pleasant, the rooms were very well equipped and airy and well decorated. The restaurant and bar area was also very good and the bed was very comfortable Thoroughly recommend this hotel

I stayed at the Van Der Valk for 8 days recently whilst I was engaged to give some talks at an event nearby at Kasteel De Haar. I was delighted not only with the room that myself and my partner were assigned but also with the staff's work ethic. From check-in to the bar and waiting staff, nothing was too much trouble. We were made to feel welcome from the outset. Excellent menu, a little expensive but then the hotel is of a high quality. Only one word to be wary of, if you are a Vegan you may have to explain this a few times. Vegetarian options aplenty but Vegan needs discussion. (A salad bowl for breakfast was very good and well presented but with alternatives today it should be looked at). Bar prices just a little high but again first rate service and excellent quality. The bar with its layout can be just a little loud, we ordered our drinks and sat in the lounge next door, much quieter. All in all, delighted and I look forward to going again.

I came to the hotel for a fair on a week-end and this is one of the worst hotel I have ever been. Design is not bad, but service is so bad. Staff is not trained. No one is wearing a mask, at the reception or restaurant. Even better, forks and knives are in a basket, and same for plates so everyone touches everything. Room had a view on the highway! and Ikea... Hotel is not well located, you will need transport to go anywhere. Food is not bad, but service terrible, Room service comes to your room with no mask, and wants you to pay in the room! first time i see that... They bring you dessert ice cream (which became a soup at the end of my meal) at the same time than the main dish, and then leave your tray for a full night and come the day after at noon to take it back, which is quite dirty. Please note that I called them twice to remove the tray but no one came. you need to pay for late check-in which I think is not appropriate for a 4 star hotel. also reception is always crowded and wait can be long. I asked them for a favor: had a small package to return with a prepaid label they did not want to help and told me I should do it myself, even though it was the week-end and post office was closed. very unfriendly staff.

Loved our 3 night stay in this brand new Van der Valk hotel. The hotel has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere which already starts in the lobby and lounge area downstairs. the animation in the lift, which takes you up or down along the Dom Tower, is fantastic and changes during the day depending on the daylight outside. We also really enjoyed the wellness area. The sauna's have floor to ceiling windows which gives great views over the city and the A12 highway. We had the wellness all to ourselves 2 of the 3 nights, which added to the experience. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and dinner was also really nice. Staff is also incredibly well trained and friendly. All really correct and service minded. One small tip to improve the wellness experience: you have to collect a key to get in to this area. But after you are done you have to return it, which is not really something you want to do if you are all rosy, relaxed and with wet swimming pool hair wearing sweatpants. Would be nice if there was a key drop box where you can leave it once you exit the wellness area. Also: some hooks to hang your towels on would be nice. Of you go into the steam room there is nowhere to leave them. We had an excellent stay and will definitely visit again if we need to be in the area

High quality hotel just a few klicks away from the city center. Good commuting outside the hotel to city center is possible. Van der valk really manage the task to offer a high quality hotel for good value! Modern and large room with a really spacious bathroom leaves nothing to wish for. Great car parking in the basement together with a small but okay gym at the top floor is a bonus! Large and tasty breakfast buffet. All the time very good personnel service! Overall a really good experience to be recommended!

Went here for a weekend away. They did some good COVID measurements. You still have the full Van Der Valk experience, but the breakfast. That ain't up to par anymore. We came in around 4 pm and the service was fast. The room is spacious and clean. We reserved the sauna and fitness for the weekend. Had a drink in the lounge and eventually went for dinner. That was really good. We had a 3-course menu (came with the booking) and the choice was somewhat limited vs the full menu. But still, at least 4 items per round so plenty of choices. The staff is friendly and helpful, in for a joke and we had some good fun. Food portions are good and any vegetables, salad or fries you can order extra for free. They serve complimentary bread with 2 types of butter, olives, and tapenade. We had a great evening out. The other morning we had to call the reception to open the fitness and wellness. Was sorted quickly but it was not opened at 7:00 am. The breakfast was (for COVID reasons) in another room that the restaurant. It was really not nice. Too bright lights, not enough choice of food. It was just less than it used to be. If they were only putting the lights a little dimmer it would already help. And increase the choice of food a bit, more bread more condiments and more (particular) fruit. However, it was not for the staff as they are more than friendly as they ever are/were. Later that afternoon we took nachos to the room and found out our room had no service yet. They came shortly after and all that was fine. The room has a coffee machine, tea, and free bottles (2x) of water. The fitness has plenty of cardio and muscle machines, the swimming pool is really nice and the wellness and sauna are just fine. We checked out (after having breakfast) the second night and enjoyed our stay at this nice van der Valk hotel.

Stayed here for 2 nights, it’s a little out of town but has a bus and tram stop nearby. It’s a lovely modern hotel with large rooms, the bathroom has a walk in shower and huge bath with air jets. We used the pool and sauna on the top floor which was small but nice. The restaurant was nice but not cheap but you would expect that from a hotel of this standard. Overall a very nice stay.
