The Amadeus is centrally located, and yet quiet. The building is old, with a narrow winding staircase, but the rooms have everything you need to be comfortable, including enough electrical outlets or extensions to run two laptops and make tea or hot chocolate at the same time (very rare in Europe!). Breakfast is the basic European bread and crackers, with cold...

We were staying there for work for 2 weeks and were moved through 3 different rooms. Breakfast is nice and healthy. But the reception closes after 20:00. So make sure you have your keys with you. Daily cleaning is good. If you want to taste the life in Haarlem? Great place for city trips. If you are on a business...

I used this place as my base to travel in the Netherlands. Lovely, quiet and beautiful are the words that come to my mind. I felt very much at home here.

The Amadeus Hotel is rated two stars and the following remarks must be read as comments, not as criticisms. The location is on a very pleasant brick paved plaza with the Town Hall at the near end and the Cathedral at the far end, with many pleasant cafe's, restaurants, sidewalk bistros,(hey! McDonald's), taverns in between. The whole neighborhood is zoned...

I have stayed at the Amadeus for many nights. Haarlem is very close to both Amsterdam and the Schipol Airport. The Amadeus staff is great! The hotel is right on the old town center square, right in the middle of everything. Haarlem is a wonderful shopping city with many sights to see.

We stayed here for the last two nights of our month long trip and were very disappointed. The hotel was quite run down, with marks on the walls and peeling wallpaper in our room. The room was the smallest one we stayed in during our trip. Haarlem itself was a delight and we'd definitely visit again, but not this hotel.

The location was great. We asked for a quiet room, and were put in a room at the back of the building, so noise was not a problem. The room was basic and dimly lit. On arrival, we had to haul our luggage up a steep flight of stairs to reception on the second floor. When we left we were...

The Amadeus Hotel is right on Haarlem's main square. Only blocks from the train station, it is clean, neat, has a lift after the first floor ascent, and the staff couldn't be nicer. The breakfast is good with a lovely view of the town square. We unknowingly ended up in Haarlem and a visit to Amsterdam on Queen's Day, last...

I stayed in this hotel 7 times these last 5 years. It is ideally situated in the Haarlem centre. The breakfast room is cozy and overlooks the ‘grote markt’. The breakfast buffet is hearty. I had the opportunity to test different rooms, all are small, dimly lit but clean and practical. The courtyard rooms are quiet, the front rooms are...

We stayed at the Hotel Amadeus for one night at the end of a 12 day trip. While the location is excellent we found the hotel to be very dated and run down with paint chipping in hallways, old dated decor. The bedding in the room seemed to be fresh, but certainly the rest of the room was very dated....
