Element Amsterdam hotel comes highly recommended for its immaculate cleanliness and modern comforts, as guests have called out the spotless rooms and meticulous housekeeping. The staff's friendliness and efficiency contribute to an atmosphere that many find tranquil and welcoming, adding a homely touch to the modern amenities.
The fully equipped rooms with kitchenettes are a hit, especially for family and business travelers. While the location is celebrated for its proximity to shopping and transit, a few guests note it's a bit removed from the city center, leading to mixed opinions on the hotel's overall value.

This hotel was located in a very accessible place (IF you can ride a bike, otherwise it is about 10-15 min walk from the nearest metro or tram) and was of impeccable cleanliness. It's attached to a mall with every conceivable store as well as a grocery and multiple restaurants.
Pros: Apart from the standard amenities, my room had a dishwasher, sink, and stove top as well as dishes, cups, mugs, pots, pans and utensils! The little things, like an automatic defogger on the bathroom mirror, were nice touches. My room felt very quiet. The breakfast was always delicious (see more on that below).
Cons: The mattress quality was about a 7/10, and felt on the cheaper side. Oddly, there was no separate sheet beneath the comforter (is this a European thing? I don't know...) so those two things were a bit unusual and below par. The dinner menu was overpriced and unfortunately not very tasty. However none of these things were not enough to detract from the overall enjoyment of a well-appointed room and hotel.
Staff: For the most part, the staff were great. One gentleman with slicked back hair who called me "boss" repeatedly during conversations felt a bit like a used car salesman and was somewhat aggressive in defending the length of time I had to wait to get to my room (3+ hours) after the app told me my room was ready, rather than de-escalating the situation. Pro-tip: a simple, "Sir, we are so sorry for this confusion. We had a global app reset this morning and that message was sent in error. If there's anything we can do for you while you wait, we would be happy to help. Trust that once you get to your room, you will find that it meets or exceeds your expectations."
Breakfast staff shout-out: I must give a special recognition to the breakfast staff, Gaby and Pansy especially, who provided A++ service on mornings. It would be so tough to face pre-caffeine, jetlagged tourists each day while running a hotel buffet, but their smiles were contagious. I looked forward to my brief interactions with them every day. On my last day there, I went to say goodbye to them and I actually felt sad about it! I wish I could take them with me <3 Thank you, Gaby and Pansy and the rest of the breakfast team!

Dear valued guest, thank you for sharing such a detailed review of your stay! It’s great to hear that the hotel’s location and cleanliness met your expectations. The proximity to the mall with its variety of stores and restaurants sounds like a convenient bonus. It’s understandable that the mattress quality and the unusual bedding arrangement might have been a bit disappointing, but it’s reassuring that these issues didn’t overshadow your overall experience. I will make sure that we take action based on your review. Your feedback on the dinner menu and the service from the front desk is valuable; it’s clear that while most of the staff provided excellent service, there were some areas that could benefit from improvement. Your suggestion for how to handle the room availability issue was spot-on and would likely enhance the guest experience. A special mention for Gaby and Pansy at breakfast is heartwarming—they clearly made a positive impact on your stay, turning what could have been just a routine part of the day into something you looked forward to. It’s moments like these that truly elevate a hotel experience. Overall, it sounds like you had a pleasant stay, and your feedback will undoubtedly be helpful for both future guests and the hotel staff. Thank you for sharing your experience!

Stayed here during the Amsterdam Marathon, the room is high but worth it. You can walk to the starting end.
NS zuid or metro zuid stops are about 10 minutes away, a bit away, but the road is flat, and dragging can be too difficult. There is also a bus or tram to reach, but not sitting. The environment near the hotel is quiet, much more peaceful and comfortable than the city centre tourist district, and walking on the street is reassuring. The hotel is in a shopping mall, the store is also open on Sundays, and there is a supermarket. The hotel will close at the front door of the mall at 8 p.m. and the front door in the mall will also take the other way. Living room with kitchen, there is a microwave oven but no oven, two-headed electro-magnetic furnace is fully equipped, daily hard work room. The room has cold air, cooled hot water is hot enough and strong enough, the bath screen covers only half the cylinder, and it is easy to moisturize the outside floor. Modern room decoration, very beautiful and comfortable and clean, a lot of plug. Every staff is very friendly, so checkin checkout meet guests in front of you to wait a long time, because they will be cold for a long time. The hotel helps call the car to the airport, 59 Mosquito Euro. There is a risk of collision on the road, if it is not necessary (such as mobility), please be sure to take the train, it will be faster than driving. Breakfast is rich, several types of juice bread, hot food with fried eggs and smoked gut. The lobby has a coffee machine, the taste is wrong.

I had a wonderful long stay at this hotel! The rooms were spotless, spacious, modern, and elegantly decorated, with the added bonus of a full kitchen, ensuring a comfortable and convenient experience. The staff, led by the outstanding Manager Mikael, were incredibly welcoming and attentive. A special thank you to Anca, Duarte, Maria, Mariam, Sheyla, and Theodora for their exceptional service and kindness throughout my stay. The location was perfect, just minutes from the city center and directly attached to Gelderlandplein Shopping Center, offering easy access to stores, restaurants, a market, and cozy coffee spots. This hotel is great for both short and long stays, whether for business or family trips, with excellent facilities, direct access to parking, and a convenient laundry service. The breakfast was perfect and enjoyable, with plenty of delicious options to start the day.

A clean, neat and tidy hotel of studio rooms with friendly and helpful staff. Our room was equipped with hob, fridge, dishwasher and microwave oven in the kitchenette with cutlery, plates, cups and glasses for 4 people. The bathroom was equipped with a large walk in shower. The hotel is connected to a shopping mall which has a good selection of shops including supermarkets. If you don't want to cook your own dinner then Papa's Loft House is the hotel restaurant where found the food to be excellent. Breakfast is served here too. We found the hotel to be in a quiet neighbourhood with none of the noise you might expect staying in a more central hotel. Getting to the centre of Amsterdam was quite easy. I would recommend buying a GVB pass, you can do this before you visit and then activate it before the first time you use it. We used a 62 bus which stops just outside the shopping mall and then changed to a No.4 tram to go into the centre. There are other options but we stuck with what we found worked for us. Overall the hotel was excellent and we will stay there again on our next visit.

We were there for a week as we needed some focus time for work in a conducive environment. Nice room with window couch. Two sitting places for work in room and various working areas in lobby/1st floor. Laundry mchine is a rare find in such hotel, but expensive enough 7€wash+7€dry, detergent included. Homely deco in common area. Breakfast included has limited choice and was the same for the entire week we stayed but we were not bored. Enough fruits and grenola and salad for the health conscious. Special thanks to the breakfast team. Thanks Pansy for the warm smile to lift our morning spirits!

Hotel is conveniently located so we decided to return, this time rented a car, there sis ample parking space at a cost within the shopping center and direct access to the hotel. We loved the rooms and possibility to have a quick meal within leaving the hotel whether it is in Papa's restaurant or at your bedroom (there is two supermarkets in the shopping center). Also front desk was quite nice and friendly faces -Maria. Breakfast was a bit overcrowded in the first day... but we managed. Overall fantastic place to stay.

This is a really nice, modern hotel, located in a mall, away from the crowds but close enough to rail transportation (and bus) to get to wherever you want to go quite quickly. There is a shuttle bus (free) that stops at the mall. The bus will take you to about 1.5 blocks form the Amsterdam South (Zuid) rail station. If you don't know where you are going or need information, most rail station have either an information booth or an office that will provide maps, and sell you tickets. Amsterdam South station to Central Station is about 10-12 minute train ride. There is also a bus stop (collects a fare) across the street from the hotel. The Amsterdam Zuid station is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel along Beethoven Street (there are other streets that will take you there as well. Make sure you download the Amsterdam 9191 app and you will never get lost. Hotel has a great FREE breakfast (smoothies, juices, breads, cheeses, meats, eggs, cereal) Breakfast staff (everyone) are very attentive and they keep the food well stocked. When it gets crowded, the expresso machine (the only choice) can get things back up. Just a regular coffee urn might help with the lines. There is also a restaurant attached to the hotel (Papas House). One of the wait staff at Papas House went above and beyond when we needed ice for a sore knee. He provided us with a handmade, vacuum sealed ice bag, The mall has a grocery store. The room we had a kitchen - frig, range microwave and sink. Very good mattress. Quiet location. Front desk staff are great and speak several languages. ATM located just across from hotel entrance. Workout room. Bicycles are available for rent. If you have never biked in Amsterdam, wear a helmet. It can be crazy. We were there for 5 nights. I would not not hesitate to stay again.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Element Amsterdam. We received the warmest welcome from Michel, who gave us a detailed explaination about the hotel and how to get into the city. He even checked in on us after we got into our rooms to make sure rhat everything was in order.
We also managed to get connecting rooms (Requested prior to arrival) that we so greatly appreciated. Our furry friend was also able to join us for €25 per night.
We loved the spacious rooms with the kitchenette, which made us feel like home. I also loved the small stickers in the room that informed guests about filtered water from the tap being drinkable.
Beakfast was superb with a wide selection. Pansy from breakfast was very friendly and helpful. It was like meeting a friend in a foreign place.
Overall, very satisfied with our stay! (room, staff and service) Highly recommended 😊

Upon checking in, I noticed there was an odor in the room and the shower drain cover was missing. Given my dust allergy, I requested additional attention to cleanliness from housekeeping for the following day.
The next morning, however, I found hair in the bed, which led me to suspect that the sheets may not have been changed despite my allergy concerns. This experience reminded me of a similar stay at a Marriott property in Paris last year during my birthday trip, where I encountered similar cleanliness issues. After I wrote my review, they replied as I hadn't reached out! Excuse me, why should the hotel depend on the customer to remind them to do their work?
"regret that you had not reached out to a duty manager during your stay....Director of Rooms, xxxxxx by Marriott Paris Porte de Versailles."
Interestingly, my experiences in London were markedly different. It appears that there may be variations in service standards and cultural practices among hotels in Europe, which could explain the differences I observed.
Overall: Great location (10-minute walk to the tram and 20 minutes to the MRT). The hotel is located in a shopping mall, which is convenient for shopping, with a supermarket inside the mall as well.

Dear valued guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback about your recent stay at the Element Amsterdam. We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you encountered during your visit, especially regarding the cleanliness of your room, which should have been of the highest standard. We are especially concerned to hear about the odor in your room and the missing shower drain cover, as well as the oversight in ensuring your bedding was fresh and allergen-free, given your dust allergy. This is not the level of service we aim to provide, and we completely understand your frustration. It is important to us that every guest feels comfortable and well taken care of during their stay. We also appreciate you bringing to our attention the need for extra vigilance in cleanliness standards, especially for guests with specific health concerns. We will use your feedback to ensure that our housekeeping team is more diligent in addressing such requests moving forward. We regret that we were not made aware of these issues during your stay, as we would have done everything possible to rectify them promptly. Nonetheless, we will share your comments with our housekeeping and management teams to ensure this situation is not repeated. If there is anything else I can help you with, don't hesitate to reach out directly to me. Thank you again for your feedback and have a great day,

G'day Trail,
i can recommend two options;
Taxi from the Schiphol Airport to Element is approx. €40
Schiphol train to station Amsterdam Zuid €6. This takes approx. 25 min (incl. 10 min walk from station Zuid to Element)
Best regards
JW
Easy walk to Zuid metro station. We just bought our tickets at the station. Very easy to master and work out. And we went to many places from that location.
There are more places to choose from in the Amsterdam area.
