I've stayed in a number of Motel One hotels across Europe and come to know them as consistently reliable and very comfortable. The Amsterdam hotel didn't let me down! The hotel is situated in the south of the City and is located 5 minutes from both trams and the metro. We used the metro everyday to get into the City and it took 2 stops and 10 minutes travel time to get to the centre. The Metro is very modern, clean and has aircon. The hotel is next door to a supermarket and there are cafes in working distance. The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful and the room was clean, modern, quiet and comfortable. The large and comfortable bar was the perfect place to relax at the end of a day of sightseeing.
I typically book Motel ones as they are always clean, well organised, nice environments with comfortable beds. They are also usually exceptionally central. This one hits all the points although is a little bit further out, however with tram links directly outside. It’s around €45 from the airport and around 20 minutes on the tram to central Amsterdam. There are cafes etc nearby for food or it’s available at the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful including help to book taxis. Thank you.
Our second time at this property. Considering Amsterdam's totally over-the-top hotel prices, Motel One's rates are still very fair. And the public transport connection has become even better since our last stay due to a newly opened subway just a few hundred metres away. We booked a "Special One" room which was a slightly larger corner room. The lack of shelf space is one of the infamous features of Motel One, but it was therefore expected. Otherwise the room was absolutely quiet, clean and offered a great bed and shower. Continental breakfast buffet was plentiful and high quality. Unfortunately, the corridor where it was set up was far too narrow and people got in each other's way - still a no-go as Covid still isn't over. Breakfast is served until 11:00 a. m. on Saturday, Sundays and public holidays. Although Whit Monday is a public holiday in the Netherlands (and many other European countries, so the place was packed), service stopped at 10:00 a. m. Adding insult to injury, from 09:40 a. m. on, items were not restocked even if requested. Big disappointment! Once breakfast problems are fixed, we will happily award 5 stars again.…
Room is compact size with modern bathroom. Handy USB charging point next to bed. Appreciate their 'luggage holding' facility on checkout day. Breakfast can be chaotic at peak time in the morning, guests busy serving themselves, all coffee mugs in use! Hotel is easy to reach from Schiphol Airport. A very short walking distance across the road from hotel to the RAI. Take Metro 52 outside of RAI (Europaplein Staion) to Amsterdam Central Station. (Choice of eateries nearby hotel, eg The Traveller, serving eclectic mix of cuisines.)
Absolutely fabulous. The rooms are bright and airy. They are well appointed with huge beds and they are very clean. Overall the hotel is modern but still cosy/comfortable. The location is great with a small supermarket next door and fantastic public transport links. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Position: Very good. 4 minutes walk from the hotel to the train station and next 9 minutes to the airport Schiphol by train. Room: small rooms, clean, modern, no wardrobes (Equip: hair drier, TV, central aircon, freeWiFi-good), no ventilation in the bathroom – problem with the moisture Breakfast: good, rich choice, coffee-average, juice-dispenser, bad organized, very small serving place, crowed, hard to find free table (actually located in hotel lobby) Staff: friendly and warm (good English) Overall: Very nice and clean hotel for good price. What’s most pleasantly striking is the cleanliness in the rooms, which goes beyond superficial and it is performed at a very good standard, very pleasantly surprised. The personnel is pleasant, friendly and efficient; moreover, at the point of checking-in, the reception was stuffed by 4 people, so everything was speedy and without queuing. The hotel itself feels fresh and all the fittings are with taste and one can tell that there was some attention and care put into it, to create a pleasant experience for the visitor. Even though not centrally placed in the heart of Amsterdam, it compensates by a very strategic location with multiple transport options, that allows tourists to be in the city centre in about 15 minutes by the moment they leave the hotel. And it’s an excellent competitive choice even for a business visit if one needs to be around this area. The rooms are unpretentious and honest but equally more spacious than competitors and with nice big windows - obviously it’s not a palace, but they have what’s expected by a 3* hotel (so no kettle or fridge for example). However, what they do offer, they do it well, so I respect them for that. Indicatively, their wifi internet was consistently just over 95 Mbps (both download and upload speed), with a very nice mint-scented shampoo, well ironed bedsheets, occlusive curtains, good noise isolation (even though I was overseeing a busy road). Maybe the only weak spot is that the breakfast area can be rather busy in the morning, and space is at a premium, but that’s the only minor negative I could think of. Finally, it can be recommended even for a longer stay, everything is comfortable and well done, no negative or constructive remarks. Definitely a hotel to return to without a second thought.…
This hotel is really nice. We were only in AMS for 17 hours and wanted a hotel near the airport. We took uber to & fro, which was expensive! (You have to walk to C17 stop at the airport for uber pickup btw) there is the option to take the RAI and walk a block to the hotel. But we had large bags from our time in Croatia and didn’t want the hassle. The hotel itself is beautiful. The room: bed, bath, pillows, etc were all comfortable and good quality. Our room had floor to ceiling Windows which I love. There is a nice seating area outside on the side of the main road. We didn’t get to have the breakfast because we were leaving as they were setting up but it looked good from what we saw. Check in and out was efficient and painless
Great hotel. Very friendly, personable staff. Super comfy room. Good location. Close to public transportation. Easy to get to all central Amsterdam locations. Great bar for having drinks before retiring after a long day. Breakfast is adequate.
