This place is a short walk from the train station. The bar downstairs is small and we never really drunk much there but the staff there were really friendly. You'd have to double check for yourself but when we stayed we were allowed to smoke in the room which is always a bonus when finding somewhere to stay in Amsterdam....

Location is great, 5 min from central station and where you'd like to be to visiting Amsterdam. Check out at 11am might be a good point for some. But rooms are noisy, really small and the worst is that you don't even have something like a plastic cup in the tiny bathroom. I paid 120€ a night and think it's...

I stayed here on a solo 2 day trip to Amsterdam. The rooms were small but newly renovated and had everything I needed so I was very happy. I think it is impossible to be closer to Central Station which is a plus if you are traveling. It is also close to great bars, restaurants, sights, etc. (premier Location). The...

This is actually one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in when visiting Amsterdam. I stayed in a single room with bathroom which is very small but if travelling with little luggage it's fine. Underbed storage also. Rooms are really modern and great shower. Most of the pics here on tripadvisor mustn't have been updated in a while. But...

Great wine, great staff- perfect little bar to take away the stress of the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. Make sure u make friends with the resident cat! Cannot recommend this place more highly. Reasonable prices as well.

The bar itself it's good, they have a decent selection of bottled beer and a few on draft. I was a little unsure of the cleaning process of the glasses as they seemed to dunk them into a sink full of soapy water and then rinse, rather then them actually being washed in a dishwasher. The staff were helpful in...

Right, there are many and varied opinions on here so I will try to remain as objective on here. Yes you are saving a few quid, but no you are not going to enjoy it. Manners cost nothing, yet the moody unwelcoming receptionist/bar staff would probably say otherwise. This reception set the tone of the stay. Communal areas littered with...

2 night stay in January. Pictures do not reflect the rooms - refurbished. Our twin room was adequate for two 30 year old women- strange layout but fantastic for the price. Great location 5 mins to Centraal station and for red light district Thank you xx

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
