We arrived at the Hotel to a friendly receptionist who was very helpful indeed. All of the reception staff were helpful and friendly. The room was adequate for our 2 night stay. Clean and tidy with the essentials we needed. Breakfast was very nice indeed. Not sure why there are negative comments about this hotel!! Would recommend this hotel. Please...

On first arriving at our hotel at the end of the most expensive shopping street in Amsterdam we were a bit worried! The E light of the HOTEL sign was out and there was a building missing next door (presumably knocked down for rebuilding in future). However, the staff were very friendly and sorted us out with our room key...

Hotel is near the city centre. Breakfast are fine. Rooms are quite small, but the idea is to go outside. Bathrooms are also ok. I'm recommending that hotel as great stop for a weekend. You can go to the centre by Tram. Wifi password amsterdam007

Rooms had an unpleasant smell. We had a uninvited guest that chewed threw our bags and food. Front desk staff weren't suprised or shocked when we told them. Rats and mice its not nice! Stay somewhere else is my advice. On the postive side the location was good if you like to be near the center but not on your doorstep....

The 4 of us shared a 4 bed room and it was adequate for the fact we were there just to sleep. It is in a dead-end street so not traffic other then cyclist and walkers into the Vondelpark. That is the other good thing as this is right on the door step of the Vondelpark. Room door was closing...

I booked this hotel recently for myself and three friends. Their website pictures and room description were not true to life upon arrival. Both bathrooms had an unpleasant smell of stale smoke and damp. Some of the wooden decor in the room was broken and overall did not feel very clean. The twin rooms were very tiny. We asked for...

Ok-it's not the Ritz but then you get what you pay for dont you?! It's in a lovely safe location, just a short tram ride from the centre (30 minute walk). You are slap bang in the museum district, and Vondelpark is on your doorstep. Reception staff were ok with us-I wouldn't want to be fussed over so I felt...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
