This is my umpteenth trip to Amsterdam, room was basic and certainly not clean, dry spit and snot on walls and windows and heavy staining on duvets and mattresses and what appears to be mould forming on the net curtains. These should be thrown in the bin! My mate has been complaining of bites for the last 24 hours! Other...

Rooms were nice and clean, they were a little small but we didn't mind. In a good area, within walking distance of the centre of Amsterdam, a 5 min walk from the museum quarter and right next to Vondel Park. We had everything that we needed and the bed was VERY comfortable and spacious. It was also very close to...

Hotel was nice in a really good area of the city and the city centre was easily accessed by public transport (I think it was walking distance but as we visited in winter it was too cold to be outside for long) so we took the tram everywhere. Free coffee machine at reception was good to get a take away...

Just got back from Amsterdam a few days ago, while hotel room was very clean it was extremely tiny, couldn't swing a cat in it! But it was just somewhere to lay our heads at night so we got on with it, asked for breakfast the following morning which was €8 each, was told it was a continental breakfast with...

It is about 5 stops on the tram to get to...

Very hard to sleep because of thin walls. You can hear even the slightest sounds of people coming in and talking at 03.00 AM. I called the hotel in advance to change my booking. The employee hanged up on me twice! The employees are all grumpy and not very supportive. Although the location is great, you tend to hear drunk...

After Reading Bad Reviews On Here I Was Panicking A Bit (I Work in The Hotel industry So I Pick Up On More) However I Couldn't Be More Wrong! After A Long Day Walking Around Amsterdam I Just Wanted Warmth. We Arrived At The Hotel After Around A 15 Minute Walk From The Centre After Feeling On Edge All Day...

Just got back today from staying in this hotel, had a wonderful weekend away. The room was clean and lovely and the bed was an absolute dream! We did not want to leave it! The towels were changed every day which was lovely! Staff are so polite and helpful! This is the second time I have stayed and would stay...

Easy check in, friendly and helpful staff. Was able to leave luggage before we could check in. Lots of maps and leaflets available in reception including vouchers for attractions. Nice room with comfortable bed, radiator, tea and coffee making in room. Small but clean bathroom. Had just what we needed for a 3 night stay.

Please read all the reviews before booking. The location is good but I think they take advantage of that fact. There is a lot better out there. I was just stuck because of the Xmas period. Everywhere else was booked. The shower was lovely Noisy mornings rubbish bin emptied early in morning. Room was very cramped as an extra bed...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
