We have really enjoyed our stay at the hotel inner. Yes the property is in the middle of a huge revamp but you go through a makeshift reception and breakfast room and turn a corner and you could be in any 3 or 4 star hotel. The room we had was room 8. We had no issues with noise at...

Went as a group of six so we were happy to find somewhere we could stay in one room. 4 of the group arrived Thursday - and were promptly woken at 7am the next morning with the sound of construction. At no point when we booked was this 'construction' mentioned. On walking past the bottom part of our building it...

This is a disgrace. It is not being renovated it is being demolished and rebuilt while it has guests. It should be closed while this is happening as the noise from all sorts if machinery can be heard through the thin walls. Our first trip to Amsterdam gave us a bad experience that we will never forget. We felt trapped...

the "hotel" is nothing like in the photos. everything is old dirty and destroyed. There was a huge rat in our room that ate some of our chocolates that were in our bags. there was rat medicine all over the room which proves this is a common problem. when we demanded to be moved they transferred us from hotel to...

Spent the last 3 nights in this hotel and I'm not impressed. The hotel is basically a construction sight! Outside its completely covered in scaffolding and as you can see in the pictures even once inside it's no better. Not happy!!!

I stayed at the hotel with my boyfriend over christmas as it was his present from me. Upon arrival we were slightly confused as the entire hotel was covered in scaffolding and plastic sheets. Once we finally worked out where the reception was we checked in and went to the room. The room was clean enough and what you'd expect...

Our room (8 bed mixed dorm) absolutely stank of body odour during the entire stay, to such an extent that we considered moving to another hotel. There is no kitchen, laundry or communal areas; this is definitely not a place where you would be able to make any friends. Having said that, I don't think you'd really want to make...

We booked a room for four and it was great. The room had everything new in it,the bath was spatious, the beds were comfortable. The sheets were clean, and towles were changed everyday. It's almost 5 min walk to Rijkmuseum and Van Gogh, and it's very close to tram stations, and from there you can get to the centre very...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
