Stayed here for 4 days in room 11 and it was exactly what we were after. From arriving and being greeted by the cat boy and nelly the owner our stay was very pleasant. Our room was clean and fresh and even though it was small it was what we had paid for and we would happily go back.

I stayed in this hotel with my friend whilst visiting Amsterdam for her birthday. As soon as we got to the hotel we were greeted by a lady at reception who I have to say really helped us and was very informative. We then proceeded to go upstairs to our room which was on the very top floor, up the...

I have just come back from a 2 night stay at this hotel. Our room was on the top floor and we had a bathroom to share with just one other room, which was unoccupied while we were there so it wasn't bad at all. The room was clean and we had a comfortable two nights stay here. The room...

Went in Feb last year for 2 nights as a couple. Hotel wasn't exactly cheap, paid about £100 for 2 nights in a standard room. Location was okay, tram stop nearby to get you into the centre of Amsterdam, however this was the only positive. Checked in about 8/9pm, woman behind desk was in her pyjamas and didn't give us...

Bar was advertised in hotel but was closed the whole time. We were on the top floor which was fine but only one bathroom to share between five rooms which wasn't ideal. Beds were like bricks too. Apart from this our whole holiday was great, we weren't in the hotel a lot because of how bad it was.

Smelly hotel in Amsterdam . Pay the extra and stay somewhere else. Even for a budget hotel this place is very bad. Rooms do not look like  the photos and are badly decorated with low child-like wooden beds. Only ONE working  shower for almost 40 rooms. Two toilets!! Is this even legal? I felt for the cleaners who had to...

It wasvery cheap, so I expected to open the door to our room and seeing dirt and nastyness everywhere. But what we saw was a very clean and fresh room with clean beds, clean towels, clean sheet, clean toilett. It was everything I needed, and in a good location

Expected cockroaches and bed bugs when the 8 of us arrived, but instead were greeted by nice staff and clean rooms. It was exactly what we needed for the price; certainly no luxury, but a perfect location.

Room was clean, it was on the top floor with four flights which wasn't good. The wifi didn't reach anywhere above the first floor which was made an example of by all the people sat in the hallway. The room was also pretty spaticious and we didn't have a problem with noise or anything. There was definitely a very eerie...

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
