Even though we reached the hotel late at night at around 1, Racheal and her husband(Owners) were waiting for us to be checked inn. It's a very warm and different(Awesome) experience which we have during our stay. It's more like a personal apartment feel to it. Every thing is within walking distance. Cherry on the cake "Entire mini bar is...

The title of my review covers it really. This hotel is well placed for sightseeing, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The owners and staff were very friendly and provided some useful tips about the city. I would stay here if visiting Amsterdam again.

A nice and peaceful place for those who want to have a stay without partytime and noise at the Hotel. Like entering in to a Family`s home. Very peaceful inside, lively right outside the Door. Good Coffe! Good WiFi.

We enjoyed our stay at Misc eatdrinksleep, a quaint name for a quaint hotel. Located in the centrum of Amsterdam they are within walking distance to most of the sites and museums. We arrived on a Saturday night which gave us the opportunity to enjoy the newly opened, very fun cocktail bar on the first floor open on Thursday, Friday...

We had the BEST experience at Misc EatDrinkSleep! We stayed here for 3 nights during our honeymoon, and it was perfect! Gabriel was awesome and made the best breakfast every morning and we had welcome champagne in our room upon arrival. The location was great and we were able to walk everywhere in the city. Can't say enough great things...

Another wonderful stay, can't fault anything about the room, the breakfast or Rachel and Pepijn's hosting. Ideal location 10 mins from the station and walking distance to most of the main attractions. Lots of places to eat within a few minutes walk.

This was an amazing little gem of a hotel in the center of Amsterdam. Great location where you can walk to everything, or take the metro for a quick ride. The owners were wonderful. They have great knowledge of the city and the history. They make you feel right at home. They have an amazing bar on the weekends for...

Very charming and sumptuously decorated bar/ dining area. Bedrooms are large and comfortable clean and cosy but are accesssed with traditional steep staircase. The owners were very helpful with recommendations for local restaurants and places to visit. Lovely traditional breakfast with locally sourced goodies A great situation about 15 minute walk to the station and its canal side position gave...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.

“If you're an urban dweller, the canal-facing rooms won't seem too loud. As a New Yorker, I had no need of the white noise machine that was thoughtfully provided. The owners seem to think the quieter garden-view rooms in the rear are better, though, so if silence is important to you, try those. Be aware that there's no elevator and the steps are typically (for Amsterdam) steep and winding.”
