We were disappointed with our stay. When we arrived in our room, the toilet was disgusting and the bowl was full of faeces that looked like they’d been in there at least a few days. Lady at reception “upgraded” us but we got a room that was exactly the same, just in a different part of the hotel. When we got to the new room, there was a big clump of hair in the toilet that looked like it had been pulled out of the shower plug. There was black long curly hair on the bathroom floor which wasn’t ours but at this point we couldn’t even be bothered complaining again. The rest of the bedroom was clean but there was still some questionable stains on the carpet and walls. Bed sheets were clean and the bed was okay, there was 2 pillow options of hard and soft which was nice. Breakfast was disappointing, really small selection and everything was very low quality. Coffee from the machine used milk that smelt off so I couldn’t even stomach it. Hotel is closer to Bijlmer Arena station (it says 11min walk but was more like 6min) than we thought which was handy as we could just jump on the metro to centraal station. The metro does take around 15-20 minutes so we would definitely stay in the city centre next time as it became a bit grating having to travel for 20 minutes if we needed to pop back to the room. The little supermarket in the reception area was really handy as you could grab stuff and just self scan and pay. Overpriced though but it was to be expected. Overall a pretty disappointing stay to be honest. We wouldn’t return.

I don't even know where to start. The room is a dwarf room. There is no place to move. But wait... that's not the most important thing. I'd better start with the "cleanliness" of this hotel. They don't know what it is to clean a room. They didn't clean the toilets, they didn't clean the shower, they didn't wash the floor, the whole room was full of dust and my boyfriend is allergic to dust. And they still come in with the audacity to ask if I need cleaning and when I say yes they just tidy up the bed a little, which even my niece tidy up better. Each time I had to shamefully call the reception to ask for toilet paper because they didn't put that either! We would put the bags of the food we finished closest to the door and they wouldn’t take that too. I think that for €2000 for two weeks it's a shame! And the woman who works as the breakfast manager who yelled at me because I accidentally took the bread with my hand and not the handle. She made me cry! I felt humiliated in front of so many people looking at me and I returned to the room with my face down. I haven't been humiliated like this since I was a child! I have no words to describe the disappointment of staying at this hotel.

I visited the hotel last week with my son. I left my apple air pods in the room. I have emailed the hotel twice but have not had the courtesy of a reply. I would have happily paid the postage for them to be returned to me. I am very disappointed in what was otherwise a pleasant stay. House keeping would have definitely found them as they were on the bed.

We spent 2 nights there as we were going to concerts at the Ziggo Dome. There is nothing 'Express' about check-in at this property. Receptionist was dull and barely looked at us. The room was functional, but nothing to write home about. No conditioner, no shower cap, no body lotion, no robes, no wash cloths, no Nespresso machine (kettle and instant coffee only), no water bottles, no fridge. Even though it was a twin room, there was only one cup. Even after requesting a second one, we never got it. The room still had not been made up by 5pm the next day. They assured us it would be done in the evening while we were at the show. When we got back, we had simply received fresh towels, but nothing had been cleaned, and the dirty cup had not been replaced. The only 2 pleasant aspects were Micheline, who worked in the breakfast room, and breakfast. Would not recommend the property, and will avoid it in the future

Stayed here one night on IHG rewards points as a platinum member. Reception staff were super friendly, efficient and professional. The room was excellent on the 12th floor with great corner window views. Breakfast also good. I’d say this was one of the best express stays I’ve had. Sometimes this brand can be fairly low on the quality scale but this location is fantastic. Also, the let me store my bike in the luggage room of the holiday inn below.

Was in that hotel for business purpose and not very happy when I saw the rooms and breakfast buffet. For that price I would expect more effort and variety. If not for the rooms then at the breakfast. I would check with other hotels before booking there, even if the other one is little more far away.

Overall approvable, but with areas for improvement. Though not perfect, they are clearly above the average of their competitors on their category. The rooms and the amenities are exactly what one would expect from a Holiday Inn Express, and some standards are maintained.

The personnel at the reception (which is apparently shared in common with the adjacent Holiday Inn) is extremely pleasant to interact with and they are doing their job to the best of their abilities, which is nice to see. It feels like the ones working daytime are more experienced than the evening ones, but they are both capable and doing their best.

They also have zero tolerance to smoking, which is a big thumbs up by me, they are doing well in enforcing that policy.

Breakfast is nothing exceptional but adequately good for a few days; on the minus side, it can get busy at times if they are heavily booked, but there is a good fluid turnaround. Either way, breakfast as an included feature to the paid rate is something welcome for a quick start to the day. On a temporary positive note, breakfast is shared with the adjacent Holiday Inn, so it’s slightly better than the standard Holiday Inn Express buffet.

Location is perfectly convenient regarding connections, and the hotel is situated a bit over 5 minutes walk from the nearest metro station.

On the negatives, I would say that the cleaning standards meet minimum expectations but they are not the best; many of the surfaces in my room could do with a good dusting, though the absolute worst in terms of dust was the telephone. Generally housekeeping is maybe overstretched but there were issues like coffee/tea that was never refilled, garbage was not always collected, the shower gel being empty when I checked in (meaning they do not check between guests if there is enough), hair from a previous occupant that stayed in the toilet floor throughout my stay, bed sheets ripped on one side. An one-off is fine, but all these together is not acceptable. Unfortunately, as a client, it’s eventually only that much that you can do indicating issues and trying to correct them without being perceived excessive or disproportionate; and a client should not be put in such a position, having to prioritise what to report and what not.

Also, the air conditioning was operational but not adequately so. Indicatively, no matter whether it’s set at low, medium or high speed, the output was exactly the same and invariably noisy. It was reported so they are at least aware and so they could schedule maintenance; I was offered to change rooms (given that it was not exactly too warm outside, I passed on the offer) but I liked the fact that they offered a prompt resolution and they did not mess around with “I’ll call maintenance”. Trying to resolve issues is highly appreciated and a good skill, so that’s on their benefit.
All in all, though I admittedly wouldn’t go out of my way to pay them a visit (e.g. if I have arrangements on the other side of the city), one can happily return to this hotel if required and if convenient.

Well, after having a hideous stay at a well know hotel in Zaandam the previous night, how refreshing to come to a hotel where the staff understand customer service It costs nothing. The staff were brilliant, dealt with all our needs, courteous and pleasant , well done. Just showed our family it was not a cultural thing after previous night elsewhere in Holland. Thank you. Location perfect for what we wanted. Such a relief after Fawlty Towers Zaandam

Unbelievable experience with this hotel Firstly found body fluids on the curtain ,which they upgraded me and changed room Secondly shower shampoo fell off the wall and was not noticed by housekeeping for 3 days Thirdly was not highlighted at reception that the rooms would not be cleaned unless specifically mentioned Lastly After complaining that although my room had been cleaned several times. The bed linen had not been for 6 days.I was assured that this would be rectified Sadly not I resorted to stripping the linen and leaving it for housekeeping to replace in the morning What has happened, apart from the price going up and standard’s going down

Great location, 5 mins walk to metro station. Really good property, friendly staff and good breakfast options. The view from 13th floor (where we stayed was really good). 2 mins wqlk to arena. 4 star is just due to room size which are slightly on smaller size.
