I'll start with the good bits... The architecture of the hotel is beautiful and it's conversion into a hotel has been done really nicely. The staff are also excellent - polite, professional and helpful. But I'm afraid my stay was pretty unsatisfactory, and if you are travelling on business, need to work, and need a reliable WiFi then as it...

Been lucky enough to have stayed here twice. Lovely old building with plenty of character. Agree with some other reviews that rooms can be a little dark but that's all part of the feel they're aiming at. Rooms are large and well furnished. We were upgraded this time to a deluxe room...there was some noise from a wedding party...and they...

clean and modern-classic hotel. Rooms were a little dark which made it had to apply good make-up at night but that is a personal preference. Hugh windows to let in natural light during the day. Bathroom was wonderful; bath was big enough for two! Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair drier provided. About 40 mins walk to the center but tram...

We stayed in the Junior Suite, as we arrived in the evening and we had to leave quickly again to attend an event in Amsterdam we arrived after mid night in our room. Unfortunately we discovered the next morning that two of the three roll -curtains did not work properly, so walking around in the room after getting up in...

We visited over the Christmas holiday and really enjoyed staying at the College Hotel. It's location is perfect to check out the museums and right by the tram that takes you to the central train station. The room was nicely decorated and clean. We had hoped for two twin beds but by the time we arrived there weren't any available....

This year traditional family Christmas dinner was arranged by my daughter in Amsterdam. She managed to get reservations at the College Hotel in Amsterdam and the food and ambiance was brilliant... We were warmly welcomed, the food was good, the wine was excellent and the service was good. They had a pianist playing which would also play music in request....

The hotel is closed to the museum district and easy to reach from many parking areas outside the city. If you don' t fancy walk until the centre, tram n. 5 connects you in 10/15 mins. Staff is very nice and very helpful. Breakfast good and at a reasonable price. The rooms are very quiet and the building is very...

Unfortunately, when I arrived, I was unwell. Subsequently diagnosed with gastroenteritis when I returned home and went to hospital. Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
