Our hotel recommended the lobby restaurant at the Nesplein hotel. It was a delicious way to start the day in a lovely and comfy "living room" style space. As always, the service in Amsterdam is top notch.
Love the boutique feel of this hotel, great location and room was great (stayed 305). I stay 1-2 nights per week in Amsterdam and the staff here far outweigh all the other hotels I've stayed in. Attentive, friendly and very efficient. Breakfast was outstanding, really...More
The hotel is very well located just off the busy Dam square but down the quiet and more refined Nes plein so best of both worlds. The staff are young and trendy but friendly and very knowledgeable and happy to siggest places to visit, restaurants...More
This welcoming boutique hotel is located in a quiet side street just off Dam Square, combining tranquility with a truly central location. The hotel team was friendly and efficient and the food in the "Lobby" restaurant truly delicious.
Location: Excellent. A ten minute walk away from the heart of the RLD, but secluded street the hotel exists in, shields you from the more rowdy party-goers.
Appearance: Quaint little hotel with glitzy little touches. The decor will not be to everyone's taste ( I...More

To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some
less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.

Schiphol airport is about 30 km. The airport has its own train station, easily reachable from inside the arrival hall and with train connections every 5 minutes to Amsterdam Centraal Station. From there you can either take the tram number 16 (platform A3 outside the station, on the left corner of the same) and get off the tram at the stop "Dam", than it's less than 5 minutes walking, just ask direction for "Nes". Otherwise you can walk from the station but it's closer to 30 minutes (with luggage and stuff). A Taxi will cost you maximum 50 euros (that's an honest taxi fare, of course), a Uber something less.
