Could seriously not find one fault with our stay at the BB Marnix. On our arrival one of the owners, Richard was there to greet us. He was extremely helpful. It is ideally situated and is within walking distance of all the attractions.

This little B&B is in very close proximity to all attractions in Amsterdam. But... it is definitely only a place for people they are not disabled and have no fear to climb up very steep and small stairs to the 2nd floor. The room we had was clean. There was not breakfast served, which we did know up-front when we...

Hello Ingrid, Thank you for your review. We do appreciate all reviews. Even the bad ones. We are a little bit confused about 'no breakfast served'. In our response to your booking request we have explicit mentioned that breakfast is served at coffee corner Moods for €9,50. Which you responded with the following text: We would not like to book...

This was a great find! I did a lot of searching and prices are pretty high if you want to stay on the channels. It is located a few minutes walk from public transport in the amazing Jordaan area close to the Ann Frank house. The room is very spacious with a fantastic view of the canal. It is exactly...

We stayed here for two nights, and it was wonderful! The room was large, clean, and quite comfortable. It had all the amenities. The location was ideal...quiet area but easy to get to the sites and train station. We would definitely stay here again if we found ourselves back in Amsterdam!

Very easy to get to. Richard is really nice and the room that we had overlooks one of the Amsterdam canals. Our room has a hairdryer, a TV. We had two twin beds put together which might be a bit awkward for a couple but it was fine for us. The toilet is private but not conjoined to our room...

Fantastic location! Quiet and facing a canal. Bus and tram stop nearby so easy to get around. Narrow stairs could be a problem for some but this is typical of old buildings. Richard was welcoming and helpful.

We were heartily welcomed by one of the owners and felt comfortable from the beginning. The room was clean, light and had enough space for two, a spacious wardrobe and desk. We had our own coffee machine with sugar, creamer and coffee pads being freshly restocked every day. The bed was comfortable and tidy. The bathroom was quiet luxurious with...

As mentioned in all the other reviews, a nice and cozy, privatley run and owned B&B. Nice neighborhood and close to center and attractions. Very genuine Amsterdam living situation-NOT a hotel chain. I would definetely stay there again. Very friendly and helpful owner!

We stayed in a beautiful room overlooking the canal, at a very reasonable price for such a fashionable area of an expensive city. Lots of positives there then. The set up itself though is more like AirB&B than an actual B&B. Effectively, it's the middle floor of someone's house converted into two rooms available for rent. No communal areas for...

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
