We were very happy at the Sir Albert hotel. The location is near-perfect, in the Pipe district, surrounded by restaurants, a short walk to the major museums, and a long walk or a short trolley ride to the old downtown. The hotel is set up for english-speaking tourists, and in the business of explaining how to navigate the city, making...

The customer service and kindness of the staff blew us away. Beyond that, the location was amazing, restaurant amazing and very alive, and our room was clean, quiet and had a lovely setup facing the canal. Couldn't recommended it more.

My family went to Amsterdam to celebrate my mother's 80th. There were 6 of us across four rooms. While there were a couple small mix ups with our rooms the staff and there incredible charm and generosity totally went above and beyond what one typically experiences at a boutique hotel. My advice is if there is any room flaw (and...

Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
