The staff here are very friendly and helpful. The floors are separated by gender and the rooms and bathrooms are very clean. The dinning area / cafe are also very comfy and offer a good selection of food and drinks. You can also sign up...More
A very friendly and welcoming hostel in a pretty central area! It's around a 12-15 min walk from the central square. The only negative was the sound quality. There are metal lockers in the dorm rooms, waking up everyone when someone wants their bag out...More
Staff here are very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, and the common lounge area was always nice and clean. Beds in dorms were OK, bathrooms always clean. Good location for walking around and exploring the area, especially the Anne Frank museum.
I was here for 2 days. This was a nice little Christian Hostel. You don't have to be a Christian to stay there of course. They also have bible study and invite you to join them for church, which I think is pretty awesome, but...More
Stayed here for our first few nights whilst backpacking and it exceeded my expectations of a hostel. Room was clean (stayed in a 6 bed shared room) with a locker big enough to put my backpack in, the staff were friendly and helpful and the...More

TripAdvisor is proud to partner with Travelocity and Orbitz so you can book your Shelter Jordan - Amsterdam Hostel reservations with confidence. We help millions of travellers each month to find the perfect hotel for both holiday and business trips, always with the best discounts and special offers.
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers.
As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.

Not really, because it's a CHRISTIAN hostel :P so they don't allow alcohol and other stuff in the hostel and especially people who are under the influence of alcohol and other stuff so my advice from our personal experience (4 guys in the early 20's) would really be to choose another hostel even if it's a bit more expensive. Have a great trip!
