Great location in Amsterdam, close to everything. We walked to the train station, museums, restaurants, and enjoyed strolling along the beautiful streets along the many canals. Hosts were friendly, efficient, and breakfast was delicious! Rooms are clean and named for Dutch artists, we liked that touch of history. The hotel is a charming old building, but does have a small...

Built in 1652 this original warehouse was converted to a hotel. While it is not your Holiday Inn Express, the rooms are nice, clean, adequate. Breakfast is fresh every day. The Hotel's location is central to EVERYTHING and makes a stay here certainly worthwhile.

Very quaint room in a centuries old building. Located on the Singel Canal with great views. This is what Amsterdam is supposed to look and feel like. The breakfast was great every morning. The dogs love the cheese and breads!

We were very pleased with this hotel. The location is quite close to Dam Square as well as to the Jordaan neighbouhood. The views of the canal are great and it was not noisy. Our room was quaint and very clean with an updated bathroom. The breakfast was fantastic and very complete and served in a lovely room with antiques....

We rented two rooms on the 1st floor (up one flight of stairs). We had a triple and a quad room, with the quad room being quite spacious. Lots of stairs, some of which are a little narrow and uneven, but we had a 78 year old traveler with us and she managed the one flight of stairs ok over...

The room is clean and the beds are comfortable, but the stairs to the rooms are to small and there are rooms with no elevator. There are not enough keys for all the guests in each room and the entrance to the hotel is looked from 20:00 (you need a key to enter). Good location but doesn't worth the money.

We have two rooms with stair access only; we always inform guests of that during the reservation process if only those rooms are available. Yes the stairs are small but the building dates from 1652 so it's to be expected. All other rooms have elevator access. Our apologies when there is a key shortage-guests sometimes leave with keys and it...

Felt authentic, clean, friendly, simple but lovely brekkie. Chilled music at all times. Exactly what was required. Great location. Reasonably priced. I would very much recommend. Possibly not with small kids just because of layout but perfect in every other aspect

There is not another hotel like this in Amsterdam. I've stayed in the Grand Hotel Krasnopolsky and the Brouwer: I like them equally, although the Krasnapolsky is three times as expensive. The single rooms are very small and cozy. The double rooms are perfect for couples. Breakfast is typical Continental with good coffee, bread and croissants, and an egg boiled...

We stayed on the top floor with a great view of the Singel Canal and west toward Jordaan, which not as noisy as I wondered about. The exposed beam design was quaint. Several windows allowed cross ventilation. The bathroom was one of the best I've experienced in Europe in this price range with a shower, a separate bath tub, and...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
