Small rooms, tiny bathroom and perfect breakfasts, but you can feel charm of Rembrandt's era. Perfect location, many attraction within the walking distance, great cafes nearby to relax and enjoy a beer.

Location location location! Cannot be happier. Everything is close by, Anne Frank Museum, 10 mins walking distance to Damrak and shops. Plus, you get really nice view of the canals. PRIME & FRIENDLY SERVICE! We arrived earlier than we expected, the room wasn't ready yet but they let us leave our luggage in the concierge. And when it was time...

After returning home from vacation, there is the inevitable period of time of reassimilation back into your routine. This period of time has given me the time to get perspective on our family trip to Holland. Our first highlight was our arrival to the Van Onno Hotel in Amsterdam (part of the Mr Jordaan group). We were greeted by Nikki and...

This hotel is described as basic but it's clearly beyond that: stains everywhere, broken shower head, granny's blankets, no bathroom mat, cold air coming through the windows, ripped sheets, terrible smell of cigarette in the bathroom....cracked ceiling.. For 115€ a night, a total rip off! The only good thing is the location but even that isn't enough to make it...

After reading some of the reviews on here about this hotel I was nervous about what I would find upon arriving however I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were lovely and helpful offering to carry our bags up the stairs and even giving us a spare key when one of us returned home alone. We stayed in the quadruple room...

This hotel has a great location when visitng Amsterdam. Walking distance to everything and loads of restaurants and bars near. The rooms are very small (our was), but we had a nice view out on the canal. Great to be able to open the window at night. The breakfast was basic but fine. Great to be able to leave luggage...

After reading the reviews, I understood this hotel was basic, but not quite as basic as we found it. We had a ground floor room, with one window opening on to a small back courtyard which was filled with junk. The lights inside were really dull and we needed them on most of the time we were in the room....

Considering how expensive the hotels in Amsterdam are, we were lucky when we got this place for a decent price. It's location is fab.. very much in the centre and we were able to walk to almost every place we wanted to go to.. Also, its by a beautiful canal :) The room is very basic but we were looking...

Ok, we knew it was going to be basic - somebody said one star and yes, it was. However, they were going through a huge renovation so I expect it will be better soon. Staff were very nice and location excellent but the overall room was simply terrible! Army/hospital style cots in a tired looking room with nothing in it....

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
