A lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of the Red Light district. No matter how crazy it is outside at night, it was quiet and peaceful in this place. Clean, friendly staff, nice kitchen for meals, and even a friendly hostel cat.
My friends and I stayed here for 3 nights and I've never felt more safe and clean in a hostel! All the people are so lovely and as an Aussie it was a very relaxed laid back vibe. Overall my friends and I had an...More
The volunteers here were all lovely, friendly and seemed genuinely interested in your day. The cafe had a nice atmosphere but the kitchen facilities (fridge and microwave) were poor. Nice outdoor seating area. My 4 bed dorm was a good size. There were some social...More
This hostel was fabulous. Right in the heart of the red-light district with a bike rental next door. The staff were super friendly, and the free breakfast was a brilliant extra. The dorm rooms were homely and the bathrooms were clean - no complaints :)...More
Really great location, situated within the heart of the red-light district. Great value for money, great breakfast included in the price! The staff were incredibly friendly and more than happy to go above and beyond to help. Rooms and bathrooms very clean. Lovely garden area...More
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some
less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.

No, the lockers are narrow. But there'll be room under the beds and just keep your valuables in the locker. You needed your own lock at this hostel, take a smaller to medium sized lock, not a big one! This place is great for location and the communal bathrooms means no wait for a shower, I highly recommend it :)
