Small boutique hotel with nice staff. Location is very good, just a few steps away from Rijksmuseum. I stayed three nights in this hotel. The staff was very helpful, there weren't many choices in breakfast but still it was good for me i enjoyed it. The stairs are very steep which wasn't a problem for me but it might be... More

As they always say- location, location, location. Overlooking the back of the Rijksmuseum, hotel museumzicht offers just enough and exactly what we needed. Breakfasts are simple, rooms quant, bus stop to schipol almost right outside. Added bonus was not having a tv in the room (forced us to keep busy till we were tired). Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Hotel... More

This hotel is located very close to the famous "I amsterdam" letters. If you're the type of person who just needs a basic place to sleep while spending most of the time outside, then this is the hotel for you. I booked a single room and happy with what I get. What I really like is that the area is... More

This is an old fashioned hotel in an old Amsterdam house. You could be in the 1940s (or before) here; the decor & furnishings are well chosen antique style. It's extremely charming. It's also quite basic; if you need room service, minibars, TV or even your own bathroom, don't stay here. The rooms at the front overlook the Rijksmuseum. You... More

It was good staying. The hotel itself is a bit old but very nice. The room was nice and clear. Be prepared for a long stairs ;) I suggest booking directly. The hotel made a 10% discount for direct booking.

Located about 150m from the entrance to the Rijksmuseum and round the corner from the Van Gogh Museum and with a stop for the airport bus and tram stops right outside this hotel has a superb location giving easy access to Amsterdam's attractions. The stair case up from the street is steep ( as are the ones to the accommodation... More

This place is cheap and amazing, if you don't need a fancy hotel. A historic dutch building with the narrow front. Warning, really steep stairs and no elevator. The staff is wonderful. The traditional breakfast is loaded and delicious. You eat in a charming dining room. Most rooms share bathroom, with one or two exceptions. Also across the street from... More

We were VERY GLAD with this gem that is located in one of the best area in Amsterdam. The service is just amazingly professional-friendly and the breakfast is great! The owner is very easy going and Jackie (the little Jack Russell) is just adorable. Toilets are always fresh and there is always available a bowl with fruits on the stairs... More

This hotel couldn't be any closer to the Rijks Museum. If it was, you would wake up in the foyer... Once throat the door, you are met by a mountain of stairs so steep I swear the ladder of the moon lander was at less of an angle...! If you have a really big suitcase, give up now... Luckily we... Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
