I stayed there for 2 nights, 28 and 29 Sept. The single room was tiny! And the walls were so thin I kept getting woken up by neighbours opening their doors. Breakfast spread was limited. Location was OK but I wouldn't have been able to find it if I hadn't called the hotel. Take tram 1, 2 or 5 from...

We found our way to the King Hotel by way of the hotel call board in the airport. Reading the reviews after the fact it doesn't sound like the same place. In Leidesplein, on the canal, right? It was absolutely fine for 100 euro a night. The room was small but clean, comfortable double bed with nice duvet, nice flat...

After eventually finding my booking reservation (and i wish they hadn't) I spent 3 days in this place. I had a 'luxery' room which contained a sink- unfortunately i couldn't wash or dare drink the water due to the oil smell and consistency of the water. One to avoid.

We stayed in the King Hotel this year. At first i was apprehensive about booking it as it has received mixed reviews on trip advisor. But it was reasonable priced and well located. Honestly it was fine? Its very well located within walking distance to the rijksmuseum, heinekin museum, van gough musuem and the market! (about 10/15 mins). the walk...

Rooms here a pretty small, clean but a bit grubby, and overpriced. Forget getting a room that remotely resembles the ones they show on the website. Toilets and showers are in the corridors and are absolutely tiny. We paid €75 a night here for a double (well actually a twin, and one of the beds had a broken leg which...

First things first, this is not a hotel, it is a youth hostel. As youth hostels go, it was clean, secure, relatively quiet (except for the slamming doors) nicely located, and expensive. By hotel standards, the room was small, the beds uncomfortable, bathrooms were accessible but "down the hall," the remoteless TV didn't work well, no air-conditioning, no non-smoking rooms,...

I have just returned from a 3 night stay in single 'room' number 21 at the cost of 165 euros plus tax. I have stayed in a variety of hotels ranging from 5* to shared hostel accomodation. I understand the difference between hostel, budget, luxury etc. This was, in complete honesty, the worst, least value for money place I have...

I was apprehensive about booking a budget hotel but need not have worried. The hotel was in a great position within walking distance of the main museums and our room though tiny overlooked the canal. Our room was on the third floor and as the stairs were very steep it might be a problem for some. The staff were really...

Just got home from a 2 night stay at the king hotel in amsterdam. It certainly was very basic. Our room was a double and basically consisted of the bed, a small wardrobe, wash basin and 2 chains. The room was extremely small and the walls were all scuffed and dirty. To be honest we didn't spend a great deal...

We stayed in King Hotel as a young couple just a week ago. As we arrived in Amsterdam without having booked a hotel, we were quite concerned if it would be posible to find a cheap and still nice hotel. we were lucky enough to find King Hotel by chance. As we entered the hotel, we were greeted by a...

“No matter how much they try to dissuade you, make sure that you check the bed for bugs, the mattress for urine stains and shower for mould before you pay for the room.”

“My internal facing room (#312) was good with large window for fresh air. Would suggest considering front of hotel all doubles as little street noise, overlooks canal, faces south.”
