Last month I booked a family room at this hotel for 1 night. The room was spacious, clean, the beds were comfortable, and it included a nice breakfast. The location is great as the hotel is walking distance to central Amsterdam (quite a nice walk) as well as to the Museumplain. The staff was friendly! Definitely recommend.

Great location within easy walking distance of central Amsterdam. First impression of entrance not brilliant but unfounded. Fantastic spacious room with good bathroom. Decent breakfast and free espresso coffee and very helpful staff. Be aware there are many stairs and no lift.

Stayed for 3 nights in this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is in a quieter area of Amsterdam and our room had a balcony. You should request one of these as you can sit and watch the world go by. The room was comfortable, clean and adequately furnished. There was no tea making facilities in the room but...

Stayed with a good friend in a room with a canal view on the first floor. Location is great, near enough to the center and trams on a really quiet street, we even slept with the windows open. Hotel is very clean with complimentary tea and coffee anytime and breakfast was perfect. The only thing that put me off was...

My husband and I recently booked a last minute short break to Amsterdam and we had a tight budget so I thought getting what I wanted accommodation wise was going to be a bit of a tall order . We wanted to stay somewhere fairly central but without being busy and noisy , that was clean and comfortable and not...

Stayed at The Bridge Hotel over August Bank Holiday. The hotel was lovely, well located, clean and the rooms were comfortable. We had a lovely view of the canal. Breakfast was included which was great, a good range of cold items i.e. cereals, hams, cheeses and fruits and yogurts, there was a toaster too, plus coffee/tea/fruit juices. The hotel staff...

The hotel and staff are very nice. I really liked our canal front room with balcony. Breakfast was good enough, meats, cheeses, bread, yogurt, cereal and hard boiled eggs. The only draw back is all the stairs. Luckily we only had carry on bags and requested a lower floor. Even breakfast was in the basement so if you were on...

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
