This was our first trip to Amsterdam and we deliberated long about where to stay. It wasn't the cheapest of choices, but we decided on a traditional hotel as we wanted to experience the true Amsterdam. We were not disappointed and extremely pleased with our choice. The staff were very friendly, polite & extremely well organised. The room was quite...

Nothing more than a 2 star hotel. The service was inexistent, the employees were just sitting at the lobby. The single small room was indeed small. The breakfast was the simpliest possible. The location was indefinetely one of the best in Amsterdam for the first time visitor.

We booked this hotel based on the rooms pictured on both booking.com and the hotels website. Those rooms pictured were spacious and light. The room we got was an attic room only just big enough for the double bed. Strongly suggest you check which room you are booking and do not assume it will be anything like the ones on...

Dear Sir, I am sorry that you were not satisfied with your room. I do believe the photo's on our web-site are representative of the rooms and public spaces. Of course not every room has a photo on-line and, basically, being in three older canal side buildings, no two rooms are alike in our hotel as opposed to any shoe-box...

Fantastic location, on the junction of two canals so always something interesting to see. We had a lovely corner room which was very light and airy, but very noisy especially at weekends. So if you want a good night's sleep and you are at the front of the hotel, take ear plugs. But it didn't put us off - the...

A sweet little hotel in the Jordan area. The single small room was actually quite big. There is no air condition only a standingfan and the heat was extreme. The only way to get air and cool air was to open the windows. The windows were facing the backyard so it was not noisy. There are no "don't" disturb sign...

An excellent position on the Prinsengracht, about 5 minutes walk from the Dam and 5 minutes from Leidseplein, so very near to all tourist facilities, good bars and restaurants, We stayed over a sunny weekend and paid a bit more for a room with a canal view, which really added to the ambiance. There is a sleepy dog on the...

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
