Friendly, cheerful warm hotel situated on a corner. Steep narrow staircase up to our room, which was clean and comfortable. Good choice of buffet breakfast, taken in a room that overlooks a busy (cycle wise) cross roads. Fascinating to watch the manoeuvrings of pedestrians, cyclists and the occasional car whilst eating a leisurely breakfast. Would stay here again, good location...

The hotel is just at the center of everything on foot: Museums, restaurants, Dam Square, Flower Market, etc... The breakfast menu was decent. The staff was very kind and helpful. Great value for the price!

Based right next to the canal in the centre of Amsterdam. You can't beat the location everything is 10-15 minutes walking distance. It's on a quiet street so sleeping at night is not a problem. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The breakfast is small but efficient. Rooms were fine, clean and spacey. We had a room looking over...

I loved this hotel, its very old fashioned and its quirkiness fits in with the whole Amsterdam feel. It is in walking distance of everything. The room was sufficient, and had what was needed. Plus its enough out the way to get a good nights sleep with no Noise yet isn't to far to go out and venture or to...

Don't ask for an upper leveol if you have heavy luggage....no lift. Very helpful staff. Served a great breakfast. Homey atmosphere. Their dog greeted us in the lobby. Be sure to bring a warm coat if you are traveling in the first part of May. I ended up buying a coat.

The hotel, on the outer canal Prinsengracht in the 9 Streets area, sits in a prime location within walking distance of Centrum, the oldest historical core, the Centraal station, and the many museums outside the canal ring. There's no spa or fitness centre or room service like 5 star hotels but in return you get good value for your room....

Amsterdam is a fully walkable city. Amsterdam Wiechmann Hotel is in a perfect central location in a wonderful neighborhood. Our family of 4 stayed in a family room. It's set up dorm style with 4 twin beds. It's a basic room but we cared more about fitting us all into one room over space. We didn't hear any street noise...

This is a beauty. The hotel has a hkmey feel and a nice a bit older greeter that paces the corridor. Somehow it knows who should be there and who should not. It only barks when something is not right. The rooms are small, but no problem..you get an old school key for the rooms. The decor and the items...

Stayed at the Amsterdam Wiechmann hotel for about four nights between the holiday and I had a great stay. Located in the Jordaan, along the canal, the street charm and views are great. It blends well with the other buildings on the block and feels authentic Amsterdam. I stayed in a small single and for my purposes, it was fine....

Quirky hotel in good location. Old world charm, no fancy frills just clean simple rooms. Bit of noise outside which we were expecting, but we had a great view from the corner room. Typical continental breakfast. Coffee good. Would stay here again.

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
