My boyfriend and I stayed 6 nights at Hotel Hoksbergen in November 2014. Our first night we were in the smallest room on the top floor - although the hotel emailed us after booking to inform us of the size of the room, and that we could move into another room after the first night. Although the room and bathroom...

I stayed at Hoksbergen hotel for 5 days with a friend. The staff was so kind all along, printed for us maps and instructions to whatever place we wanted to go each day, rented us bikes and ordered tickets for us to museums and attractions. The breakfast was pretty basic, satisfying and tasty but there wasn't too much diversity. The...

Nice and helpful staff. Colorful hotel, steep stairs, small rooms, but inviting. Very good location, near the center and railway station. Good breakfast, free wi-fi. I like it and I recommend this hotel!

Modern, sparkling clean en suite shower room. Really helpful and friendly staff. Great range of discount leaflets and discount business cards. Tourist map given and sights pointed out at check in. My error in booking, corrected at no further cost. 5 minutes walk to Dam Square. All attractions and central Station within comfortable walking distance. No need to buy a...

We have just got back from a short break at this hotel, stayed there for two nights and are glad we didn't stay any more. We didn't pay much to stay here so didn't expect much really and it met our expectations. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of most attractions in Amsterdam; Dam Square, Central Station, Red...

Best canal location, everything is accessible to walk to. Small but practical rooms, stayed there with a friend for three weeks and it became like home. We hired bicycles from reception and often had a chat when we came in of an evening. The staff were super friendly and was always able to answer any questions we had with things...

Within very easy walking distance of all major attractions, this hotel is great for the on-foot traveler. We stayed for 2 nights and found the staff to be very friendly and genuinely helpful. The free breakfast is a very basic one - skip it and have some waffles/baked goods at one of the many nearby bakeries instead. The rooms are...

Hotel Hoksbergen is about a 15 minute walk from Amsterdam Central station and is very easy to find, being situated alongside the Singel canal. The hotel itself is clean although it would definitely benefit from new carpeting throughout. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. They will give you a map and explain the best places to visit if...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our small hotel is situated in a beautiful canal-house that is over 300 years old, nestled on the quiet, picturesque Singel, the oldest of the four major ring canals in Amsterdam's famed inner city. Our cosy hotel offers an oasis right in the centre of town. The hustle and bustle of the shopping streets around Dam Square, the charm of the myriad canals lined with 17th-century houses and world famous sights, such as the Anne Frank House, are all literally steps away. There are also convenient trams and other public transport options to whisk you off to all of the city's many attractions. Room information: the hotel offers 13 double and single rooms and one triple room. We serve a good continental breakfast-buffet in our light and pleasant breakfast room. Rooms are ready for check in at 14.00 o'clock. If you arrive earlier we can store your luggage until then. We look forward to have you as our guests! ... more   less
