Me and a friend stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights as we were traveling around Europe. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They were glad to provide us with information and tips. Breakfast was nice and plentiful with a variety of juices, breads, cereals, meats, etc. The room was very comfortable and clean. We arrived close to...

Stayed at the "Studio", which is a lovely apartment in a separate building. We had all comforts, the room was perfectly clean, good choice of food at breakfast, and the whole staff was super friendly. We couldn't have asked for more!

We stayed for 3 nights at the Hotel Zandbergen on the advice of a friend who is from the area. We were very pleased with our stay. It's really more of a B&B than a hotel, so do not go expecting anything fancy. There are steep stairs leading to the rooms, as in many European hotels, so keep this in...

I stayed in a small, single room in September 2011 for a brief, solo visit to Amsterdam whilst between jobs. As covered before, Hank is just so lovely and friendly. I was quite lazy getting out of bed and missed breakfast both days but he still brought me over some whilst I sat his computer about 11am. When I checked...

We stayed a week here mid-March 2012. Couple 61/61. Holidaying. Stay based on Trip Advisor comments. We were not disapointed. This is a great little B & B. Hospitality was excellent. The manager 'Henk' and staff could not do enough to us. Room was spacious, clean and well decked out as one would expect in a B & B. Breakfasts...

My husband and I stayed for a week at Hotel Zandbergen at the end of March and would return in a heartbeat to this wonderful hotel. As other travelers have noted, the charming personal service offered by owner Henk de Lugt, his assistant Anita Doerga, and the rest of the staff, is unparalleled. The location on tramline #2 in a...

Me, my wife and my 7 year old twin boys stayed at the Hotel Zandbergen for 3 days, March 24th -27th. We were able to catch the train from the airport to Central Station and then take the #2 tram, basically to the hotel's front door. It was very easy to get to and just minutes from the center of...

We have been staying at Hotel Zandbergen since 1992. It boasts a great location near Vondel Park, convenient to public transportation and many tourist sites. The hotel itself is quiet and comfortable, perfect for families with young kids. My family loved the breakfast -- warm croissants every morning and made-to-order coffee. Best of all, the staff goes out of its...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
