This hotel was excellent - service a 5 star place, warm and friendly. The morning continental breakfast superb - hot croissants just out of the oven!!!! Such helpful staff to someone who had never been to Amsterdam - highly recommend and would go back in an instant. Room accommodations spacious and I even had a tiny balcony. Exceedingly comfortable bed...

This hotel is the epitome of Amsterdam charm. It's clean, friendly, quiet, inviting and has a wonderful quirkiness that makes you feel as though you are staying in a friend's spare room rather than a hotel. Everything is to quite a high standard but very understated and not in any way cold and impersonal. The hotel is in the museum...

A welcoming and charming hotel in a very nice part of Amsterdam. Staff is very friendly and the rooms are quite nice. The Vondelspark and Museumplein are 5 to 10 minutes walk (only a few minutes by bike) and there are nice shops and a tram stop one block away.

Fantastic friendly helpful staff. Good location. Excellent breakfast. Definitely would recommend. Open plan reception/lounge/breakfast area works really well. Staff will book tickets for you. The staff really make the hotel though. So nice.

We loved our room, great lobby/ reception area. Rented the bikes and rode all over town. Yes the stairs to the rooms are very steep, but always help with the bags. Best part was the over the top nice staff...each and everyone going beyond to accommodate our requests. I would highly recommend if you are visiting the museums, this place...

A slightly quirky hotel but rather good. Excellent staff, very comfortable room and a great location on the edge of the Museum Quarter. My room and en suite were both spotless, well presented, and very warm and cosy (it was very cold in Amsterdam during my visit). The stairs up to my room, as is often the case in independent...

Chose this hotel because it was near the Rijksmuseum. Very easy to get to - the No 2 tram passes its door and stops 100 metres away. Met by Tessa who could not be more helpful. ONE WORD OF WARNING the stairs are STEEP! Tessa even carried our bag to our room. Our room was on the second of 3...

This is a lovely, small and quirky hotel and the staff are wonderful. Really helpful and friendly and their knowledge of Amsterdam is brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast is very relaxed and food is good, especially the "oold bread". Location is great, close to the museums and trams and Vondelpark is just down the road. We will certainly...

Just what you need for a visit to Amsterdam, a nice little hotel not far from the museums, with a tram service just outside to take you into to town/train station. The staff are incredibly helpful and offer lots of ideas and tips!

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
