Spot on! Not very fancy rooms but clean, well serviced. Hotel foyer beautiful and breakfast superb. Cooked and cold buffet breakfast. Some things we Brits like are not here (tea in rooms) but anything can be arranged.

It was a great time to stay at Rho. Kindly and nice staff. Good service. It was something wrong with our safe and they fix it at the same time we complained. We liked us. Great big room. We had the corner room ? We had a good time her. The showerfill could have been more stronger, but this is...

I stayed here 1 night in Feb with my boyfriend and sister. It was a lot bigger than I expected! Greeted by a lovely staff member. One thing that I didn't like was that I asked for a non smoking room but when we arrived my room smelt like smoke. Not sure whether it was a smoking room or not...

I have stayed in this hotel probably once a year for the last 8 years or so. The rooms are quite variable depending on which part of the hotel you end up in (I think it is made up of several quirky old buildings joined together!) but none of them are poor. Reception staff are excellent and cleaning is good....

Very nice hotel in the very centre of Amsterdam. Very convenient location. All major sites of interest are located nearby. Very friendly staff. Nice lobby (former theatre). Tasty breakfast and clean room. Very good price-quality ratio.

Lovely! Just off Dam Square. Comfortable rooms, stylish old hotel (converted old theatre). Very friendly helpful staff. Excellent breakfast selection, really could last all day on it!! Only one thing would have made it perfect and that would be facility to make hot drinks in rooms - instead a drinks machine was available in the lobby, but was out of...

This hotel is right at the center of it all,Dam Square is on your doorstep. It's a basic hotel but perfect for a couple of nights stay. Staff very nice, even if there wasnt room for all 6 of us in the breakfast room. Rooms are a bit old fashioned but comfortable, would def stay again and recommend it to anyone.

The inclusion of breakfast and the localtion just off Dam Square, were the reasons I selected this hotel. It made a great base within walking distance to all the main attractions, shops and bars. The foyer of the hotel is large in art deco style. The reception staff are probably the most friendly and helpful I've met. Nothing too much...

We arrived at the Rho Hotel for the New Years festivities, and I have to say it far excelled what I expected. Location is perfect, six or seven steps off Dam Square, it doesnt get much more central than that. The staff are lovely people, very friendly, very helpful. Couldn't speak better of them. Granted the rooms are a little...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
