This small three star hotel in the southwestern part of Amsterdam is very well located only 100 meters or so from the VanGogh Museum. It is on the main trolley line that feeds to the city center in only 10 minutes. The rooms are good sized for Europe the staff is wonderful. Run by two brothers Martin and Rould they...

It is worth going to Amsterdam, just to stay at the Hotel Fita. I have stayed at a lot of Hotels in my 21 World trips, but loved this place. The two sons, Roel and Martijn could not be more helpful and treat you as if you were their first ever customer, every time. The room was very comfortable, lovely...

We booked the hotel and got my confirmation right away. We got our rooms and they were perfect clean. Breakfast is included and it was excellent! The service was super good and the staff was very friendly, helpful and always available for any question we had. Location is great, in a very nice quiet area, central, close to one of...

When reviewing we always look for some faults before giving our rating. Trouble is we couldn't really find anything here. Ticked all the boxes. The room was a very good size with nice bathroom and good towels. Hairdryer, tissues, plastic cup dispenser were all pluses. In the room there was a safe, nespresso coffee maker and regular kettle, ironing facilities...

Very warm welcome and they could not do enough for us during our stay, including help with days out, transport, restaurants and much more. Had 3 nights at the hotel in lovely comfortable rooms and very scrummy breakfast (especially the dutch pancakes!!). Location is just outside the hustle and bustle, but everything is in walking distance or if not, the...

Spent 6 nights in the Fita and had a splendid time. Hotel comfortable, very tidy, great breakfast, wonderfully friendly and accomodating staff. Would stay again in an instant. Note: the kids from the youth hostel across the street can be a bit noisy late at night if the windows are open.

We're very glad Hotel Fita was a part of our Amsterdam experience. The hotel is conveniently located near the tram, Van Gogh and Rijk Museum. We walked everywhere. It is a fabulous family run hotel with outstanding service. The staff could be counted on to make fabulous suggestions for dinner and called ahead the reservations for us. The morning breakfast...

We just came back from a 5-day stay at the Hotel Fita in Amsterdam. Like many other guests at the Hotel, we were treated with warmth, welcome, and patience for all our questions and needs. Roel and his staff were uniformly great. The hotel's location is on a quiet, pretty street right adjacent to the Van Gogh museum and a...

Great little hotel, family-run, lots of warm service and attention to the guests. Rooms are clean and practical, with everything you need and a comfortable bed. The location is ideal for museums, the Concertgebouw, the fashion district, and Vondelpark, and is just a couple of blocks from the trams (at Rijksmuseum) and the bus to/from the airport so no taxis...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
