Hotel Fita is in a superb location in the Museum Quarter with easy access to transport and restaurants. The airport bus stops 5 mins walk from the hotel. The staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast is included so the hotel is very good value.

Hotel Fita is run by father (Kees) and son (Roel) and their accommodating staff, always with a smile. My friend and I stayed with them in April for 3 nights; it was our second trip to Amsterdam and returned because it's a delightful city and wanted to stay away from the crowded center. The museum district is quieter than central,...

This hotel is charming and located within walking distance of museums. Breakfast was delicious, especially the pancakes! Staff very helpful and friendly. Great suggestions for restaurants. Staff bends over backwards to help with transportation and directions.

A very nice, clean small hotel just around the corner from the Van Gough and Rijksmuseum. The owner and his family made us feel like guest in their home and recommended the best restaurants nearby. The Seafood Bar is now my all time favorite. The rooms were generously sized with very modern bathroom fixtures. We will definitely return the next...

The hotel is small with wonderful rooms and enjoyable personnel. We had a corner room with large windows on 2 sides. No traffic outside to interfere with sleep. All of the people went out of their way to help and make you feel at home. The breakfast was very nice. The only negative was the steps getting into the hotel....

I had the distinct pleasure of staying at Hotel Fita for three nights in late January of 2017. Out of all the hotels that I stayed at in this Around The World Trip, Hotel Fita was the best. In a whole lot of ways this property really excels: 1. Museum Quarter fabulous location with trams and airport bus both being...

Extremely friendly staff, family run. Super breakfast especially the crapes, which we were told is called "Dutch pancakes". The room was little on the warm side. Was able to open the double doors leading to the balcony to get cool air. Overall, a great experience.

The Pros: In the heart of the Musuem Quarters, walk to Rijmuseum, Van Goh Museum, Concertgebouw etc., close to tram/bus stops, to the airport and Central Station and other parts of the city; reasonable rates for a 3 star hotel with an elevator, no matter how small it is, nobody needs to drag his heavy luggage up the steep stairs;...

This is truly a gem of a B&B. Perfect location for the museums, walkable to all the great shops and restaurants, as well as meandering along the canals. Our room was much, much larger than we expected (a large double) and it was a delight, from the teeny tiny lift to the Dutch artwork (Brecht Swaanswijk) on the walls. I...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
