This hotel is basic!!! No lift just a small narrow spiral staircase which was a nightmare for us as our room was on the top floor. Only one plug socket and one mirror located inside the bathroom so was a nightmare sharing with another female. Cold tap would not turn so only hot water available from the sink. Terrible smell...

If you just need a warm bed and some peace, and also low price, you can go. But if you want large beds, good lobby or gold covered furnitures, then go to hilton or somewhere else... Çalışanların neredeyse hepsi turk, güler yüzlü insanlar.. Her konuda yardım eder.

Me and two friends stay at Hotel Beursstraat for a weekend back in June to celebrate my 21st. The room was basic and did only come with one plug socket which was an issue but apart from that everything was fine. The room is basic but it is kept clean every day, the shower was good and the staff were...

We booked a couple room and getting there the beds were single and very small, not comfortable at all. We talk with the receptionist and the next day we went to a couple room. The first room was dirty, especially the bathroom. The second was also dirty, the bathroom a bit better. In both bedrooms, the furniture is really old...

Me and a couple of friends were looking for a hotel for 2 nights recently in Amsterdam. We struggled to find a hotel that was cheap and in the heart of the city centre. Previously staying at a hotel close to this was sold out, so decided to book here. I was so worried after reading so many negative and...

The room is tiny! The people next door sounded and felt like they were in our room. No smoking is not an option!! the room stank of smoke and urine and ashtrays were in the room. We requested a non-smoking room! Toilet was filthy and stank! the button to flush the toilet is missing. The double bed is a board...

There is nothing wrong with this hotel, you get what you pay for! I am currently staying here and never would off wanted anything better. Yes the rooms are small but they are comfortable with enough room to walk around. Obviously your staying in Amsterdam so they will smell off weed and smoke, you get used to it! Being so...

So I spent 6 days, 5 nights in this hotel. I was worried when I read reviews- but now I know they were not a true reflection of this hotel. The staff are helpful and polite, rooms are clean and simple, it's smack in the middle of town making travelling to tourist hot spots incredibly easy- as well as visiting...

Probably the worst hotel I have ever frequented. The room stunk of smoke and was the size of a shoebox, the walls thinner than paper and the staff unfriendly with little English and no Dutch. The WIFI costs so be warned. I would never return and plead others to look elsewhere.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
