Best place to stay in Amsterdam Central for this value. stay here and spend you manoy for entertainment :) Room was clean and quiet. Employees were always helpful. You may want to take a hair dryer with you, since there isn't any in the room. And there is only one power outlet, better to have a multiplier with you to...

This hotel is so bad, its almost good! From the start, putting out bags into the UNLOCKED storage room as room was not ready (we were early) and the guy goes, "put it on this shelf, its safer" before laughing, like he knew it wasn't safe their either. Then we come back when our room is ready, and as we...

Bed were decent, was suppose to get a quad room but got 2 rooms instead, but at least they were next door to each other. The check in guy looks like a local drug dealer, rooms didn't smell too bad but the hall way smells like weed, Makes you feel like you aren't safe to leave your valuables in the...

If you are looking for a cheap motel you found it. Location is the only thing this place had going for it as the beds were uncomfortable and old, the rooms tiny stinking of cigarettes and a toilet and shower down the hall that could really do with a clean. I think the person that checked us in was drunk...

Stay here for 2 nights for my girlfriends 30th birthday. Great location, only 5/10 mins walk from central station and easy acess to all parts of amsterdam. We were able to check in early which was good and our room was very basic but good enough to get our heads down for some rest.

Group of 4 of lads there for the weekend for the Ziggo Dome ABGT200 event. Wanted somewhere central and cheap and Hotel Beursstraat is just that. We had a 4 bedded room with a private bathroom and did the job perfectly. No issues with hot water, no problems with the beds either. The staff were great, helped us out, and...

Rooms are much smaller than expected and very dated. My main issue was the horrendous smell of cat urine in the bathroom and room in general, literally so strong we went and bought cleaning products and air freshener as couldn't cope! However this hotel is in an amazing location and that made up for it! Minutes away from central square,...

Stayed here with 3 friends, group of females in our 20s. Basically, you get what you pay for. It was the cheapest place we found which was central (though still very expensive for what it was). The location is fantastic, you can walk to most attractions and there's plenty of bike rental places within walking distance. 10 minute walk from...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
