After all the mostly positive reviews about this hotel, I suppose I have to say I was pretty disappointed. As always, it's subjective as I was in a room that might be totally different to others, but what I had (Room 22 I think) was TINY. I appreciate that it used to be a Merchants House and it's lots of...

I stayed for 3 nights in November prior to embarking on a cruise. The reception staff were efficient, effective and most welcoming. Of cause the interior had it's constraints like most hotels in Europe, but this is what one would expect when wanting to experience the true Dutch ambiance. The continental breakfast was substantial with sufficient fortification for a full...

We booked a room for 3 nights with a friends. We asked for a twins bed rooms, smoking with a canal view and all was respected. Rooms are tiny but as usual in Amsterdam. Bathroom is the black point of the room, small and not very usefull. Beds are comfortables and the hotel isn't noisy. The street is quite and...

The locations is great because while close to the station and Damrak, etc., it's on the quiet Singel canal. I stayed in the "Smallest single room in Amsterdam" and found it to be just as advertised. And while it seemed expensive for the limited space and amenities, just a little research of Amsterdam hotel prices shows it's a good value....

I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in the 2nd last week of October. For some reason unknown to me it was very difficult to get hotel rooms in Amsterdam during this week. Prices were highly inflated. So, I chose this hotel as it seemed it was the right compromise between price, location, and amenities (as per previous reviews)....

Opening the door to our double room, the door hit the end of the bed. So the room was very small. Otherwise for one night it was OK. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was good.

I stayed at this hotel before, and in the last time I gave 4* to this hotel . But since then, have passed 2.5 years and the condition the hotel became worse :-( The general condition of the hotel is still ок but the condition of the rooms is worsened - dirty carpets, stains, falling off part of shower ,...

Very good location - close to everything yet peaceful at night. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast and room size ABOVE my expectation as the reviews I read before my trip were not very promising; the breakfast choice is more than sufficient with the quality was in place, and the single room I booked could easily fit 2 people. Definitively...

I was adamant that I didnt rate this hotel but then got stranded in Dam for an extra night and had to stay in the hans brinker, that was an experience in itself and left me pining for the comfort of the singel. So it was very clean, shower always hot and very comfy bed, but the time was wrong...

I wanted to write a really good review of this hotel as the staff are so helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The hotel has positives: it's a five minute walk from the railway station, it's in a good location for access to attractions, it offers a limited but acceptable breakfast and it has free WiFi...

Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
