We chose this hotel as it is close to the railway station and has easy access to the city center when walking, the price we got on booking.com was also very attractive. I think that the room sizes vary quite a lot, ours was a reasonable size with a very big comfortable bed. We arrived early as we had an...

Stayed at the singel hotel on a short city break, was pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. Just a few minute walk from the central train station and within walking distance to all attractions. The 24hour were all extremely pleasant and helpful. Will definately be returning :)

This is a very pleasant hotel only a few blocks from the central train station. The room was not fancy but was very clean and functional. The breakfast was great and the people were very friendly and helpful.

This hotel is situated very central to all attractions in Amsterdam. All locations are within walking distance from the hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful any time of the day or night. We had a very pleasant stay the rooms although small are spotless. This hotel is great value for money and I would definitely recommend it.

Great staff, excellent location, highly recommended, very comfortable. Only downside was limited TV for news & breakfast could have been improved with fresh fruit & cold water. It was a bit noisy sometimes outside late at night when trying to sleep.

My husband and I stayed at the Singel for the second time last week for 4 nights . We really like this place for its location (5 minutes walk from Centraal Station and central enough to walk to almost all attractions). It is clean and comfortable and feels very secure. Staff friendly and helpful, we know Amsterdam quite well now...

Very impressed with the helpfulness of the 24 hour staff. Really friendly and knowledgable. The rooms are small (the bathroom is even smaller) and in my room the window faced a wall. Location is about a 10 minute walk to train station which is the closest place to get the trams to other parts of the city.

Stayed here a little over a year ago, still a great location, friendly service and reasonable cost. The hotel is right on the canal and a couple of blocks from the train station and the crazy tourist area, almost in the Jordan area. Construction work on the canal in 2016 limits car traffic on street. Last time I had an...

Moderate 3-star hotel on Singel Canal. Easy 5-minute walk from Centraal Station and easy walking to all areas of the Centrum. Comfortable rooms, reliable wifi, functional bathrooms. Breakfast included if you book direct or pay extra thru booking sites. Ask for a canal view room and check to see if there is any canal construction in progress.

Recently stayed here for 2 nights at the end of September, the staff were very welcoming and helpful, the hotel was in an excellent location, 5 minutes walk from the train station and the Jordaan area, which is lovely for mooching about, having a drink and it's so pretty. The hotel was basic, but had a lovely bathroom, good shower...

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
