This is an undeniably upscale hotel in a great location and a lovely bar. It also has a super smoking room for those who indulge. Conference facilities are very good. The rooms are of a very high standard too. So why only 4 stars (and only just on the 4th star too)? Because this hotel has a number of "internal...

This hotel is well placed and it has a very nice atmosphere! All staff were all very helpful and very kind. I would recommend to reserve room facing the Canal and also have a dinner in one of the water front restaurant..

My 3 night stay at De L'Europe was quite exceptional. From the friendly staff & superb suite overlooking the Amstel to the high quality of cuisine & perfectly delivered service, I could not fault the hotel. De L'Europe has truly raised the bar in the Amsterdam. Highly recommended.

We stayed here in December/January and had a wonderful time. The hotel is beautiful and our room had fabulous views. The concierge was very helpful and gave us great recommendations. Breakfast was yummy and service was friendly and very good. The hotel is centrally located and close to everything.

Loved the bar at this hotel, stumbled across it whilst on the way somewhere else, the ambiance was good and the bar area really nice, the bar staff were attentive and met needs and the added touches of infused water was an added bonus. A bit on the pricey side but worth a visit.

This is a hotel like few others. You will come for the location, but you will stay because of the guest bathrooms (heated marble floors)! The restaurant for dinner is a five-star delight and a presentation unlike any other. Not cheap but well worth the memory. The cigar bar is a treat... again, not everyone's pleasure but this hotel isn't...

Not much to say, top of the pile, always a pleasure, will be back next time in Amsterdam. Staff great, beds lovely, food could do better room service, but on the whole 9/10. Had dinner in Adam, which was great a few months ago but was poor, boss was away i think.

If you are going for a short break - or longer in Amsterdam this is the hotel to stay. The genuine welcome we received from everyone was wonderful. The De L'Europe is extraordinary: perfect location, professional service, large beautifully appointed rooms and bath, excellent food and wonderful staff. After being very cheerily greeted each morning at breakfast ( the Best!), we were ably guided though our five day visit of Amsterdam. All of the employees were warm and welcoming and made this trip to Amsterdam a treasured experience.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
