I stayed in this hotel 10-11th September, it was cheap compared to a lot of other similar star hotels in Amsterdam. Location was very good a short walk to Leidseplein where there are a lot of bars/cafes and restaurants. The staff are very good and helpful beyond the call of duty. The room was terrible, a tiny room on the...

When we arrived we were told that we were going to have to pay significantly more than we were originally booked for as they'd double booked the cheaper room we were supposed to be staying in!! This was all done under the 'service with a sneer' approach to customer care. Of course, we argued the point and the guy on...

I really like Quentin England, I’ve stayed 3 times, and would do so again. I’m a regular visitor to Amsterdam, and this is far and away my favourite base in the city. A few points: 1) Location – superb. Situated between the lively Leiseplein and the tranquil Museumplein, QE is well-located for easy access to all of Amsterdam’s major attractions,...

Great location for us just across the road from the park and a sort walk to the museums. The room was clean, average size with a little balcony and the bathroom was basic but perfect for us, only problem was that water spilled out from the shower onto the bathroom floor so we had to sue a towel to soak...

The hotel books people in small underground rooms with no daylight. The customers should be informed about that when they book!! I saw the room and decided immediately not to take it. However they charge me the first night, although it was their fault not to inform me about the details of this "room". Hands-off this hotel!!

First off, the positive: the desk staff is extremely helpful and friendly. It's not their fault that the place is a dive. One comes to expect that older hotels in Europe miight not have an elevator - an inconvenience, but not a big deal. The stairs in this converted old Dutch house are extremely steep and the width of the...

The hotel was clean, sinple, tidy and ideally positioned for exploring the city. Yes the stairs are steep but many of the buildings in the city are tall and narrow so nothing we didn't expect. The Quentin is very close to the tram stops, shops and restaurants and very good value compared with others in the area. If we do...

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! On checking into the hotel and shown to what can only be describled as a run down prison cell we found blood smudges over the walls next to the bed. The "uprgraded room" had a bathroom the size of a £2 coin, with unlimited cracks in the sink. Also the complementray damp stains...

We stayed two nights here, luckily we did not take suitcases as the stairs in this establishment were something else! We were on the top floor and the room was nice enough; a quality equal to the price. The staff weren't particularly friendly but we had no problems. Breakfast buffet was ample. The location is a huge selling point for...

Absolutely terrible... We paid 75 Euro for a tiny room in the basement with no windows and no ventilation at all - Not good at all on a hot night. It felt like we were in a dungeon, I wouldn't even let my dog sleep there. We were given a small fan which was so loud we couldn't sleep at...
