Picked up this hotel, as I used to stay here on previous visits to Amsterdam. The hotel is in the city center. Walking distance from Amsterdam central station, the dam square is just around the corner, the shopping street is at the back of the hotel and most of the attractions are walking distance. Since my last visit (few years...

Picked this hotel due to its fantastic location virtually in the middle of Amsterdam's busiest area do you location was fantastic. The check-in receptionist was extremely rude and I'm helpful when we finally did get our rooms they were small but given the location understandable they were clean however the beds are terrible and both soap dispensers were broken. On...

This hotel is perfecting located about 1 min walk from Dam square. The hotel is clean, the facilities were new and the bed comfy. The room was a little small but perfect for a couple nights. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good value

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in Sep.2016. It is a very conveniently located hotel with walking distance to RLD and other places of interest. Hotel staff is friendly however room standards are not at the level which you would expect at that price, although nothing serious to complain. As it is a very bustling place, you can...

The place is in the middle of it all and I guess you pay for the location because what the hotel offers is not much. Internet is poor, the bathroom is tiny but worst of all, the heat was no on in my room when I got in at 11, a nightmare scenario in the winter. The cleaning staff seriously...

Brilliant first trip to Amsterdam in May 2015, good location, lovely big window in room which overlooked the streets, room was better than expected. Although we found it tricky to find first of all, it is really easy. Not far from some of the main attractions such as the dungeon.

If you're looking for somewhere nice and central, clean and friendly then I can recommend Cordial. Perfectly located in the heart of Amsterdam, quiet, clean and tidy. Don't expect beach views, you're in the middle of a city 😂 The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We'll be back!

Small but clean and cozy rooms. Be sure to ask for a double bed as we got two single bed pushed together, however, the mattresses were comfy. Location is great and the breakfast is affordable and excellent. Croissant was fresh with a nice selection of quality meats and cheeses. Highly recommend if visiting Amsterdam.

The hotel is very centrally located, 20 minutes walk from Central station, 5 minutes from Dam Square. We had a small double which was small! However the toilet/shower room was very good with a good shower. Looked fairly recently refurbished. The staff at reception were very efficient, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good value and there were boiled eggs, cold...

Just returned from our first visit to Amsterdam,Hotel was about a 10-12 minute walk from the main station just past Madam Tussaud's . We arrived around 10 o'clock in the morning and was greeted by a very cheerful and happy staff member who said that we couldn't check in till about 2 pm but was more than welcome to leave...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
