A very friendly, comfortable hotel. Excellent choice for breakfast, room clean and adequate for a short stay. Restaurant rather limited choice but food of a good standard. Reasonable hair drier in bathroom but towels not particularly large or fluffy! Hotel is situated in quite a good position, trams not more than a few minutes walk away. Good supermarket around the...

I recently spent 3 nights in this hotel attending a conference (the meetings were held elsewhere). Generally with an Ibis hotel, you know what to expect -- the rooms are the same, the bathrooms are the same, the decor the same. At this Ibis that was true, but the service was definitely not the same -- it was worthy of...

Great modern hotel staff warm and friendly very helpfull with directions and things to do. Request a room overlooking the canal at the back as the main road to the front can be busy and noisy. Fantastic location once you have your bearings, would stay again without a doubt.

I stayed here for one night while away for a weekend with friends in Amsterdam. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from central station in a quieter part of town. The rooms were clean and comfortable and if you're having a night out in the city it's a fine place to say. We paid £60 for our room...

Is a great place to stay at, is not in a crowded street but is a couple of blocks of the main areas such as the red zone, there is a grocery store at the corner. The service is great the room is big enough and the best of everything was the breakfast, a full hot breakfast with great variety...

We stayed for 3 nights, had breakfast included. Generally, we are interested that the hotel rooms are tidy and the sheets get changed daily. Since we only use the hotel for sleeping and bf, we generally don t mind the size of the rooms, however this room was large enough, the bathrooms seems so small at first sight, but the...

The check in was fine when we booked we thought the price was final only to go to the hotel and they said that their is a tourist charge for every room per night that made the price higher. The staff were friendly enough, the bar is very expensive to drink in but the bar staff are great. With the...

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
